Though Dawkins defined the meme as &#8220;a unit of cultural transmission, or a unit of imitation,&#8221; memeticists vary in their definitions of meme. The lack of a consistent, rigorous and precise definition of a meme remains one of the principal criticisms leveled at memetics, the study of memes.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This sounds very like astrology, so I feel right at home.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, <a href=\"http:\/\/brilliantatbreakfast.blogspot.com\">Jill<\/a> tagged me for this and it seems a good way to lift me temporarily out of my Pluto obsession (Mercury in my chart is in Scorpio) so here goes:<\/p>\n<p><span>1.  Things that scare me:<\/span><br \/>The fact that I will probably never understand the mysteries of life.<br \/>Heights and highway driving.<\/p>\n<p><span>2. People who make me laugh:<br \/><\/span><span>Stephanie Miller<br \/>Jon Stewart<br \/>Amy Sedaris<\/p>\n<p><span>3. Things I hate the most:<br \/><\/span><span><span>cruelty<br \/>arrogance<\/p>\n<p><span>4. Things I don&#8217;t understand:<\/span><br \/>Monty Python<br \/>blind religious belief<br \/>horror movies<\/p>\n<p><span>5. Things I&#8217;m doing right now:<\/span><br \/>wondering about Pluto&#8217;s next act<br \/>putting off cleaning out my closet<br \/>petting my dog<\/p>\n<p><span>6. Things I want to do before I die:<\/span><br \/>understand the mysteries of life<br \/>fully appreciate my life<br \/>learn to relax<\/p>\n<p><span>7. Things I can do:<\/span><br \/>read a birthchart<br \/>program the VCR<br \/>raise a great dog<\/p>\n<p><span>8. Things I can&#8217;t do:<\/span><br \/>go to a scary movie<br \/>watch Ann Coulter<br \/>travel alone<\/p>\n<p><span>9. Ways to describe my personality: (this was missing on Jill&#8217;s but I found it elsewhere):<\/span><br \/>calm demeanor belying an inner wildness<br \/>friendly and kind but solitary<\/p>\n<p><span>10. Things I think you should listen to:<\/span><br \/>Your inner voice of guidance, no matter what.<\/p>\n<p><span>11.  Things you should never listen to:<\/span><br \/>Your inner voice of self-doubt.<br \/>A sentence that begins with the words &#8220;you should&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span>12.  Things I&#8217;d like to learn:<br \/><\/span>cascading style sheets<br \/>the hammer dulcimer<\/p>\n<p><span>13. Favorite foods:<br \/><\/span>Mexican and Indian<br \/>dark chocolate, of course<\/p>\n<p><span>14. Beverages I drink regularly:<\/span><br \/>I can&#8217;t start the day without my decaf.<br \/>An occasional therapeutic beer.<\/p>\n<p><span>15.
