At a press conference in Tokyo, Masashi Goto, who worked for Toshiba as a reactor researcher and designer, said the mixed oxide (MOX) fuel used in unit 3 of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant contains plutonium, which is much more toxic than the fuel used in the other reactors.<\/div>\n
MOX fuel is a mixture of uranium and plutonium reprocessed from spent uranium, and is sometimes involved in the disposal of weapons-grade plutonium.<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Uranus and Pluto are about seven degrees from an exact square (90 degree) formation, but with Uranus moving into Aries the faceoff between the two planets begins.  This summer the alignment between the two planets will be as close as it will be this year, about a degree from the exact square which will not culminate until next year.<\/p>\n

I’m not a scientist, and perhaps some of my scientist readers (and husband) will weigh in on this issue. It is my understanding that Uranium has some unique (of course) properties in that it can quickly generate a nuclear reaction but cannot sustain it.  This correlates with the qualities of astrological which instigates a radical reaction but often doesn’t stay around to put the pieces back together.  Plutonium is evidently made FROM Uranium and in combination with Uranium can sustain a chain nuclear reaction for power plants.<\/p>\n

The combination of Uranium and Plutonium would be the astrological equivalent of a conjunction, in which the elements are fused and work as a team.  But we are looking at the upcoming square between the two planets – a 90 degree angle in which Uranus and Pluto are in conflict with each other.  Under this symbology we could find that the combination of Uranium and Plutonium in nuclear plants creates a crisis (under the square aspect) that requires an adjustment to resolve.<\/p>\n

This could be an area of concern all over the world, since the use of MOX fuel in nuclear reactors is increasing.   Several plants in the US to deliver MOX fuel are under construction, including one in South Carolina <\/a>that is slated to begin operations in 2016, hopefully safely past the end of the Uranus\/Pluto square.  Many are already  concerned about the suitability of MOX fuel for nuclear reactors, as evidenced in this article from February 2011<\/a>, and the current meltdown in Japan won’t soon change their minds.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
