As we begin
\nthe final square of the current cycle in the dance between Saturn and Pluto,
\nwhat can we expect? The opening salvo in
\nthis square occurs on November 15, and Saturn and Pluto will be in a tight
\naspect through the second phase of the cycle in January of 2010.  <\/span>The Saturn\/Pluto cycle operates on a global
\nlevel, but also on a personal level. 
\n<\/span>What will we need to let go of personally (Pluto) in order to achieve a
\nfirmer footing (Saturn) in our lives?  <\/span>Where do we need to face the hard truth
\n(Saturn) and break through barriers for change (Pluto)? <\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n

The fact that
\nPluto is traveling through Saturn’s sign of Capricorn is significant, as it
\nprovides a double emphasis on the need to build a strong foundation
\n(Saturn\/Capricorn) from which we can derive real power and transformation
\n(Pluto).  <\/span>Anywhere we have been deluded
\nor swayed by mass hypnosis into unconsciousness, we will have an awakening that
\ncan be exhilarating or rude in accordance with our ability to understand the
\nprocess.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The impact of
\nthis Saturn\/Pluto square will be particularly powerful in the United States because it is affecting the
\nMidheaven of the US
\nchart, the point of the government and its standing in the world.  <\/span>Events that were set in place during the
\nopening square and the opposition will come to fruition now, for better or for
\nworse.  <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The conflict
\nbetween Saturn and Pluto often generates a great deal of fear, particularly in
\nthe face of intense events that occur around us.  <\/span>Any time we encounter Pluto in its guise as
\nthe Lord of Death we can become fearful in the face of the certainty of endings
\nand change.  <\/span>But Saturn requires that we
\nface our obligations and work diligently to overcome them, regardless of the
\nobstacles that are placed in our path. 
\n<\/span>In doing so we become stronger and more powerful; better able to
\nnavigate any rough waters that we encounter. <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

If this
\nplanetary combination affects your own chart, you are being called to find the
\ndelicate edge between control (Saturn) and surrender (Pluto).  <\/span>This is a creative balancing act that is
\ntaught in many yoga classes, where we become aware of the edge of our ability
\nto control our lives and our experience, and then we surrender as we release
\nthat control to go beyond those limits. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

 In the square aspect, such as we
\nsee here with Saturn and Pluto, there is the potential to integrate the power
\nof the two planets in an experience of powerful transformation.  <\/span>But first we must embrace the darkness and
\ndive into the unknown with perfect love and trust. <\/span><\/p>\n
