We had a wonderful Yule celebration last night in Berkeley,
\nwhere I was an invited guest (my own group meets tonight).<\/p>\n

Rains have socked in all over California, and while our celebration was wonderful, we despaired
\nof seeing the eclipse,  <\/span>But when I
\nwalked outside at the end of our ritual meal, high overhead a hole has emerged in
\nthe clouds and the moon was about half covered with the earth’s shadow.  <\/span>The hole stayed mostly unobstructed
\nuntil minutes before the full eclipse, when the omnipresent clouds finally
\nmoved in for good.<\/p>\n

Must have been some pretty good weather magick.  <\/span>It reminded me of when there was a
\ncomplete solar eclipse in the Pacific Northwest years ago, in 1979.  <\/span>Some friends went up to the recreation
\nof Stonehenge <\/a>in the Columbia Gorge at Maryhill <\/span>to watch it from there.  <\/span>They were joined by Pagans from all
\nover the Northwest.  <\/span>And the media.<\/p>\n

It being the Northwest, a rainstorm moved in blocking the
\nview.  <\/span>The Pagans worked some
\nweather magick – and over Stonehenge a hole appeared in the clouds so they and
\nthe media could see the eclipse.<\/p>\n

As the story is told there were no other holes anywhere
\nclose by.<\/p>\n

Magick as I experience it is the “non-coincidental
\naccumulation of meaningful coincidences.”<\/p>\n
