<\/span>A fifteen year old girl<br \/>\nraped by her church&#8217;s deacon and then <a href=\"\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Health\/MindMoodNews\/alleged-rape-victim-accuses-trinity-baptist-church-deacon\/story?id=10806348&amp;page=3\">forced by her pastor to apologize for<br \/>\nbeing raped<\/a> to her church&#8217;s congregation?&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--EndFragment--><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\n<!--StartFragment--><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a href=\"http:\/\/friendlyatheist.com\/2010\/06\/02\/baptist-church-told-girl-to-apologize-for-being-raped-2\/\">The pastor,&nbsp;<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/friendlyatheist.com\/2010\/06\/02\/baptist-church-told-girl-to-apologize-for-being-raped-2\/\">&nbsp;Chuck Phelps of Trinity Baptist Church in Concord, New Hampshire,<\/a>&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/friendlyatheist.com\/2010\/06\/02\/baptist-church-told-girl-to-apologize-for-being-raped-2\/\">&nbsp;read<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"webkit-indent-blockquote\"><p>a single-page letter written for [Tina] Anderson<br \/>\napologizing for allowing herself to get in a compromising situation and for<br \/>\ngetting pregnant.<span>&nbsp; <\/span>Church members<br \/>\nwere then asked to come forward to offer their forgiveness, Anderson said.<span>&nbsp; <\/span>Willis [the rapist] had to apologize<br \/>\nfor cheating on his wife.<span>&nbsp; <\/span>&#8220;They<br \/>\nsaid, &#8216;We forgive you for getting pregnant,&#8217; &#8221; she said. &#8220;It felt stupid, it just<br \/>\nfelt wrong.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">While Phelps admitted to her Willis was 99 percent at fault, she was still one percent to blame.<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;Therefore she had to ask forgiveness. &nbsp;<\/span>Significantly, Willis, at 99 percent, was not asked to ask forgiveness for<br \/>\nrape, just for extramarital sex.<span>&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span>This moral and spiritual abomination did not stop there.<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;Tina&nbsp;<\/span>Anderson was sent to Colorado where <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"webkit-indent-blockquote\"><p>a minister there asked her to write a letter to Willis&#8217;s<br \/>\nwife, apologizing for abusing her trust by having sex with her husband.<span>&nbsp; <\/span>Church members there monitored her<br \/>\nphone calls and didn&#8217;t allow her to be with people her own age, she said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"webkit-indent-blockquote\"><p><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Bizarrely, apparently her parents remain members of this obscene church<br \/>\nto this day.<span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Verdana;color:#140E0A\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Hard as this is to believe, it is the inevitable spawn of arguing what is highest and most Sacred is only male.<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;It emerges from all too many weak minded or morally depraved Christians and Muslims (I am not aware of recent Jewish abominations against women, although the Old Testament has its share). &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span><\/span>This country desperately needs to free<br \/>\nitself from the spiritual darkness of conceiving the Sacred in purely male<br \/>\nterms, let alone the sadistic and sick image of an all powerful male deity that<br \/>\ncan only forgive people sins that occurred before they were born by the<br \/>\nsacrifice of his innocent son by still other people.<span>&nbsp;
