{"id":472,"date":"2010-01-18T21:59:31","date_gmt":"2010-01-18T21:59:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/apagansblog\/2010\/01\/centre-for-pagan-studies-day-for-gerald-gardner.html"},"modified":"2010-01-18T21:59:31","modified_gmt":"2010-01-18T21:59:31","slug":"centre-for-pagan-studies-day-for-gerald-gardner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/apagansblog\/2010\/01\/centre-for-pagan-studies-day-for-gerald-gardner.html","title":{"rendered":"Centre for Pagan Studies: Day for Gerald Gardner"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There will be a <a href=\"http:\/\/centre-for-pagan-studies.doreenvaliente.com\/?p=1821\">Day for Gerald Gardner<\/a>&nbsp;at the Charge of the Goddess Conference in London, UK, this September 12, 2010. &nbsp;This conference celebrating the life and influence of Gerald Gardner hopefully will interest any Pagans in the British Isles or who like to travel a lot.&nbsp;&nbsp;Last year&#8217;s celebration for Doreen Valiente filled up, so act soon if you want to attend. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\n<span class=\"Apple-style-span\"><\/p>\n<ul style=\"padding-top: 0px;padding-right: 0px;padding-bottom: 0px;padding-left: 0px;margin-top: 0px;margin-right: 0px;margin-bottom: 0px;margin-left: 0px\">\n<li>\n<!--StartFragment--><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height:150%\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"line-height: 25px\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><span style=\"color:windowtext\"><font>At least <a href=\"http:\/\/centre-for-pagan-studies.com\/?p=1938\">Lois Bourne<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/centre-for-pagan-studies.com\/?p=1941\">Zach Cox<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/centre-for-pagan-studies.com\/?p=1826\">Philip Heselton<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/centre-for-pagan-studies.com\/?p=1176\">Ronald Hutto<\/a>n and <a href=\"http:\/\/centre-for-pagan-studies.com\/?p=1936\">Fred Lamond<\/a> will be present. &nbsp;I am fortunate to know some of these people, who are among the most knowledgeable around regarding the history and practice of British Traditional Wicca. &nbsp;They are also wonderful human beings. &nbsp;I&#8217;d go myself if I were closer.<span class=\"Apple-style-span\">&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/font><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--EndFragment-->\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/span>The announcement passed on to me said:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<blockquote class=\"webkit-indent-blockquote\"><p><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">Last year we sold out in advance of the Day for Doreen Valiente and&nbsp;tickets sales are already selling very quickly so far this week. So&nbsp;please, if you want to come don&#8217;t rely on turning up on the day. Last&nbsp;year was only ever intended to be a one-off event but so many people<\/span><br \/><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">have asked us to honour other Pagan Elders that have shaped our&nbsp;traditions that this will now be an annual event. At least for the next&nbsp;few years.&nbsp;<\/span><br \/><font color=\"#000000\" face=\"arial, sans-serif\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"border-collapse: collapse\"><br \/><\/span><\/font><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">We know that we could have taken on a much bigger venue but the&nbsp;atmosphere created by those 500 people last September would be lost in a&nbsp;larger space. So we would prefer to keep it small and intimate.
