Over at Liberty and Power<\/a> I’ve started a discussion<\/a> as to whether there is such a thing as the democratic peace – that democracies are unique among forms of government in that they do not fight wars with one another. The comments that are likely to arise there may interest readers of my own site. I put it up last night, but I suspect within a day there will be considerable life on the discussion site.
\nMost libertarians argue the democratic peace thesis is false. I suspect admitting otherwise would require them to seriously rethink their ideology because so much of it is pinned on a false equation of democracies with other forms of government. They of course say I am wrong.
