Perry, Jim DeMint, Wiley Drake, Steven Anderson, and the prominent conservative news site, NewsMax, have in common.&nbsp; A hatred for democracy when they lose is a start.&nbsp; The political disease that calls itself modern<br \/>\nconservatism is increasingly showing its colors.<span>&nbsp; <\/span>And it<br \/>\nbehooves us Pagans to keep our eyes open.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><!--[if !supportEmptyParas]-->&nbsp;<!--[endif]--><\/p>\n<p><!--EndFragment--><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\nIn news media sponsored by the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.americablog.com\/2009\/09\/rnc-sponsors-newsmax-which-posted.html\"> Republican National<br \/>\nCommittee<\/a>,&nbsp;<br \/>\non Newsmax John L. Perry spoke happily of the good things that would come from<br \/>\na military coup taking over the United States.<span>&nbsp; <\/span>Nothing else would really do, he suggested.<span>&nbsp; <\/span>Never mentioned was that in democracies<br \/>\nwe have elections to accomplish such tasks &#8211; and we have one scheduled next<br \/>\nyear.<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span><\/p>\n<p>When<br \/>\nfor some reason people objected, Newsmax took it down, identifying Perry as an<br \/>\n&#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.newsmax.com\/john_perry\/obama_military_coup\/2009\/09\/29\/266012.htm\">unpaid blogger<\/a>,&#8221; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newsmax.com\/john_perry\/obama_military_coup\/2009\/09\/29\/266012.html\">l<\/a><br \/>\nSomehow they never mentioned he has <a href=\"http:\/\/tpmlivewire.talkingpointsmemo.com\/2009\/09\/coup-columnist-perrys-long-history-with-newsmax.php\">regular column for about ten years and had<br \/>\nbeen a former editor<\/a> of the site from 1999 to 2001.&nbsp;<br \/>\nClassy.<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Newsmax has done all it can to destroy the evidence, but you can see the actual article by going here and <a href=\"http:\/\/mediamatters.org\/blog\/200909300012\">downloading a PDF<\/a>.&nbsp;<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>And now, nationally recognized &#8220;Christian&#8221; pastors have <a href=\"http:\/\/www.talk2action.org\/story\/2009\/9\/2\/12392\/06622\">conducted<br \/>\nprayers<\/a> for God to kill Barack Obama.&nbsp;<span> <\/span>The message of Jesus was given an<br \/>\ninteresting touch by Rev. Steven Anderson: <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>you have probably never heard a<br \/>\nsermon like this before. Actually, you probably have if you have been coming to<br \/>\nchurch here for a while. But you know what? Here is my sermon, why I hate<br \/>\nBarack Obama. That&#8217;s my sermon tonight, because Barack Obama is coming to town<br \/>\ntomorrow morning.<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Rev.<br \/>\nWiley Drake, Former Vice President of the Southern Baptist Convention,<br \/>\nsimilarly demonstrated <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.ocweekly.com\/navelgazing\/a-clockwork-orange\/rev-wiley-drake-prays-for-obam\/\">devotion to democracy and Christian love<\/a>. My thanks to Cheryl for bringing these lunatics to my attention.<br \/>\n<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>In the midst of all this South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint<br \/>\nhappily planned to travel to Honduras, to meet with the dictator who used a<br \/>\ncoup to oust their elected President.<span>&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span>DeMint <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2009\/06\/28\/manuel-zelaya-arrested-ho_n_221961.html\">supported the coup<\/a> in June.&nbsp;<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The US has yet to recognize the criminal regime, civil liberties such as<br \/>\nfreedom of the press have yet to be restored, though the coup happened quite<br \/>\nsome time ago, and our foreign policy disapproves of overthrowing elected<br \/>\nleaders.<span>&nbsp; <\/span>None of which matters to<br \/>\ndeMint. When he visits perhaps he&#8217;s hoping to pick up some pointers.<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Once they started losing elections, the conservative love of democracy<br \/>\nand our constitution has soured.<span>&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span>They have even turned to hating America as a whle, as when so many<br \/>\ncheered Chicago not getting a chance to host the 2012 Olympics. <a href=\"http:\/\/mediamatters.org\/research\/200909300003\">Increasingly<\/a>&nbsp;<br \/>\nthey are preaching violence and revolution.<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s hard now to imagine conservatives vehemently attacked the Dixie<br \/>\nChicks for disloyalty because they dared admit they did not like Bush II.<span>&nbsp; <\/span>But they did.<br \/>\n<!--EndFragment--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What do John L.
