Someone sent me this e mail and I loved it, especially since I am about to take a group of people to Baja to spend time with the whales<\/a>. The story touched my heart. I hope you enjoy it too.<\/p>\n

The
\nWhale… <\/span><\/font><\/span>
\"whale<\/a><\/span>
If you read a recent front page story of the
\nSan Francisco Chronicle, you would have read about a
\nfemale humpback whale who had become entangled in a
\nspider web of crab traps and lines. She was weighted
\ndown by hundreds of pounds of traps that caused her to
\nstruggle to stay afloat.<\/p>\n

She also had hundreds of yards
\nof line rope wrapped around her body, her tail, her
\ntorso, a line tugging in her mouth. A fisherman spotted
\nher just east of the Farallon Islands (outside the
\nGolden Gate ) and radioed an environmental group for
\nhelp. <\/p>\n

Within a few hours, the rescue team arrived and
\ndetermined that she was so bad off, the only way to save
\nher was to dive in and untangle her. They worked for
\nhours with curved knives and eventually freed her.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n


\n When
\nshe was free, the divers say she swam in what seemed
\nlike joyous circles. She then came back to each and
\nevery diver, one at a time, and nudged them, pushed them
\ngently around as she was thanking them. Some said it was
\nthe most incredibly beautiful experience of their lives.
\nThe guy who cut the rope out of her mouth said her eyes
\nwere following him the whole time, and he will never be
\nthe same.<\/span><\/font><\/span> <\/span><\/font><\/span>
