It is believed to be bad luck if you leave the Christmas decorations up after this day. Traditionally they were removed on Twelfth Night and any edible portions were eaten.<\/p>\n<p>In England it was the day the world turned upside down. Peasants would become Lords and Lords peasants. They would bake a cake with a bean or a pea in it and whoever found the bean would be the leader of the festivities.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\nIn the eastern Alps young men would run around in masks clanging bells and making lots of noise to chase away evil spirits. In Catholic regions it is the beginning of Carnival season. In New Orleans they bake a cake with a small doll in it that represents the Christ child. Whoever gets the doll has to host next weeks party.<\/p>\n<p>You could use Twelfth Night as an opportunity to release any of your old, limiting beliefs and to deepen your connection with the angelic realms. Light a candle and say a simple prayer. You could say something like:<\/p>\n<p>Angels, guides and beings of light please help guide me and feel your loving presence. Help me to act always in love and release any and all judgments or thoughts of fear. Help me to deepen my connection with the divine and be a shining example of the power of love.
