Doing your best is not the same as being the best. I was reminded this morning of a young boy who played roller hockey with my son back in the day. He wasn’t the best athlete or the best player and could barely stand up on his blades. He came to every game, showed up no matter what and did his best.<\/p>\n

\"doingyourbest\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I was the manager of the team and the coach and both believed that every player would play, not just our best and that we would go out and do our best each game. We were big on good sportsmanship. This young man was tall for his age, a bit awkward and as I said, not athletic at all.\u00a0We put him in the position as a defenceman. When the puck would be coming our way he would do his best at trying to catch up and if he couldn’t do he would just throw his body in front of the puck or even in the net if the goal tender was out of the net. We loved his enthusiasm and attitude. When I think of him I smile. I think of his perseverance, and ability to just keep doing his best.<\/p>\n

Always do your Best is also one of the Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz –<\/a> a wonderful book of Toltec teaching. It briefly states that:<\/p>\n

4. Always Do Your Best<\/strong>
\nYour best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgement, self-abuse, and regret.<\/p>\n

These are pretty good words to live by. The book is a great read and worth getting, might even be in the library. It is one of my favourites and I have given it as a gift also.<\/p>\n

Your Angel Guidance is\u00a0to focus on doing your best:<\/h4>\n

Just keep doing your best. No one can ask anything more from you and if they do, let that go too. Remember that your best can change from moment to moment, from day to day. Don’t be too hard on yourself if today you weren’t the best, just remember to do your best!<\/p>\n
