As a Corpsman in green and not navy blue,
\nI offer this poem from a Doc\u2019s point of view.
\nWe\u2019ve been honored by stories, poems and such
\nBy Marines we have served with and respected so much.
\nThey speak of our honor, bravery and skill,
\nAnd the cry, \u201cCorpsman up!\u201d still gives me a chill.
\nWhen a Marine goes down, what will it be?
\nA trache? Tie off bleeders? Start an IV?
\nOnly one thing is certain as we rush to the scene,
\nOur ass will be covered by our brothers in green.
\nYou see we\u2019re adopted, \u201cSons of the Corps.\u201d
\nNo more \u201cAnchors away\u201d – \u201cSemper Fi\u201d evermore!
\nIt\u2019s true when you\u2019re wounded, your life\u2019s in our hands,
\nAnd we\u2019ll treat and protect you to the very last man.
\nFor you are our point man, our cover, our shield,
\nAnd we count on your skills all our days in the field.
\nMany a grunt laid his life on the line
\nTo make sure Doc got to the wound in time.
\nSo, my brothers, I thank you, as all us Docs should.
\nIt\u2019s YOU who make us Corpsmen look good!<\/p>\n
