I recently commented about the ability we have to help change the headlines by the way we live out our faith. Then, just last weekend, USA Today <\/em>highlighted responses by individuals and churches in Joplin who are responding to the recent tornado devastation in their area. I couldn’t help but want to cheer,\u00a0“Yes, that’s it!”<\/p>\n

The news will always feature more negative stories than positive simply because they attract attention. Yet in the midst of daily tragedy, stories of hope and service that note the kindness and compassion shown by people who love God are making a difference both in local communities and worldwide.<\/p>\n

Now is not the time to look at the struggles of our society and point fingers; now is the time to be the hands and feet of Jesus to a world looking for something better and something greater. As you have the opportunity today, show his love to those around you, whether in Joplin, your neighborhood, or the ends of\u00a0 the earht.<\/p>\n
