I began to write an article about praying for the Chinese believers arrested on Easter. Then I realized we could do something about it in addition to praying.<\/p>\n

So I started a petition, sent to our President, Senate, and Congress, protesting China’s latest and most blatant attack on religious freedom. I encourage you to join me.<\/p>\n

You can be the difference<\/strong> to show our nation’s leaders we will stand against those who oppose the basic human right of religious freedom.<\/p>\n

On Easter Sunday, April 24th, 2011, up to 30 members of a Chinese evangelical church group were arrested by police for attempting to hold an Easter service.<\/p>\n

This attack on religious freedom cannot take place without a public outcry. If you believe this act should be condemned publicly by our nation’s leaders, please sign and share the letter below at Change.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Condemn Chinese Arrests of Church Members on Easter Sunday<\/em><\/p>\n

Greetings,<\/em><\/p>\n

I am asking for a public condemnation of the April 24th arrests of up to 30 Chinese citizens from Shouwang Church for gathering for religious activities in the Zhongguancun area of Beijing. <\/em><\/p>\n

Religious freedom is a fundamental human right. Yet China has abused this right by arresting numerous individuals on the most important day of the year when Christians simply gathered to celebrate the holiday. There was no protest involved or breaking of laws. Unless we stand opposed to such actions, we silently allow this abuse to continue. <\/em><\/p>\n

Please do not ignore or neglect this important matter. Rather, use your influence to publicly join against this act and encourage others to do the same. You can make a positive difference in the lives of these 30 Chinese individuals and to countless others who seek similar freedom. Thank you in advance for your mutual concern and support. <\/em><\/p>\n
