It
\nwas a day Pastor Alimjan had been waiting, hoping and praying for.
\nAfter more than two years of imprisonment in China’s autonomous Xinjiang
\nProvince, Alimjan was finally granted permission to see his family.\n<\/p>\n

\nArriving at the prison, Alimjan’s wife Gulner and their two small
\nchildren were told to wait by a glass partition. Soon thereafter, a
\ngaunt man was escorted to the other side of the screen. Despite being
\nnoticeably thinner, Gulner of course knew the face of her beloved
\nhusband. Sadly, Alimjan and Gulner soon realized that the same was not
\ntrue for their son–after such a long time apart, and at his young age,
\nhe no longer recognized his father. “He could only stare at the strange
\nman, separated from him by a wall of glass,” says a friend of the
\nfamily.\n<\/p>\n

\nAlimjan and Gulner desperately need your prayers for strength and
\nperseverance as their separation continues. Though lawyers are working
\non Alimjan’s appeal case, progress is slow and he remains sentenced to
\n15 years imprisonment for “leaking state secrets.” Meanwhile, Gulner is
\nleft to care for the children alone. She has been granted permission to
\nvisit Alimjan for just 20 minutes each month.\n<\/p>\n
