That&#8217;s the latest report regarding Asia Bibi, a 45-year old Pakistani woman sentenced to death for her Christian beliefs. <\/p>\n<p>According to this week&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2010\/11\/25\/AR2010112501408.html?wprss=rss_religion\/wires\">Washington Post,<\/a> &#8220;Pakistan&#8217;s president will not immediately pardon a Christian woman sentenced to die<br \/>\nfor insulting Islam but may do so later if an appeals court delays her<br \/>\ncase too long, an official said Thursday.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Why the change? The article does not say, but does refer to the recent demonstrations in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailytimes.com.pk\/default.asp?page=2010%5C11%5C25%5Cstory_25-11-2010_pg7_21\">Lahore<\/a> and other cities where Muslims have protested the original pardon. <\/p>\n<p>I share this for two reasons. First, keep praying for Asia Bibi. She has been in jail for over a year already for allegedly blaspheming Mohammad and her Christian beliefs. Pray specifically for her quick release and to be reunited with her children.<\/p>\n<p>Second, activism works (at least in this situation). Share this on your <a href=\"http:\/\/facebook.com\/\">Facebook<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/\">Twitter<\/a>. Email it to a friend. Write or call your Congressman and Senator (<a href=\"http:\/\/freedomist.com\/2010\/11\/17\/free-asia-bibi-updates-on-the-movement-to-free-asia-bibi\/\">Here&#8217;s how<\/a>.). Get your church, parish, denomination, or other religious groups involved.
