In response, Christians worldwide, led by the prayer movement of South Korean believers, have interceded on behalf of Christians in the world&#8217;s most-closed country.<\/p>\n<p>With the recent North Korean attack on its Southern neighbor, tensions have swelled to their highest point in years, with headlines claiming the nations are on &#8220;the brink of war.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The organization Voice of the Martyrs has stepped into this conflict with a positive opportunity for like-minded faith activists. Under the rule of Kim Jong Il, the needs of North<br \/>\nKoreans are sacrificed in order to bolster the power and control of his<br \/>\nregime. North Koreans are currently suffering severely because of<br \/>\nskyrocketing inflation and the shortage of daily necessities. Many are<br \/>\nstarving to death.<\/p>\n<p>Among the hardest hit are followers of Christ, who are treated with<br \/>\nparticular cruelty for refusing to renounce Christ&#8211;an action that<br \/>\nrecognizes an authority greater than the &#8220;Dear Leader.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>For a second year, VOM&#8217;s Christmas Blessing Fund is supplying believers<br \/>\nin North Korea with gift packages that contain food, toiletries,<br \/>\nmedication, clothing and Christian literature.
