An international outcry resulted, calling for Asia&#8217;s release, including a plea from the pope.<\/p>\n<p>The good news: Monday&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/world\/2010\/nov\/22\/pakistani-woman-facing-death-blasphemy\">Guardian <\/a>announced Asia Bibi&#8217;s newly-declared innocence! This is a tremendous change of direction based on people like you speaking out. This is exactly the type of change &#8220;Activist Faith&#8221; is designed to create. <\/p>\n<p>Thank you to those who participated by texting, <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/\">tweeting<\/a>, posting on <a href=\"http:\/\/facebook.com\/\">Facebook<\/a>, sharing with friends at work and church, and praying. God changes things and He uses people like you to do it.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, Asia Bibi&#8217;s release doesn&#8217;t stop the difficulties in her life from this situation, so please keep her in your prayers.<\/p>\n<p>Second, her freedom is only one of countless people persecuted for their religious beliefs. I&#8217;ve started <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/activistfaith\/2010\/11\/i-am-illegal-in-51-nations.html\">speaking out <\/a>on this recently and will continue to highlight this issue. In fact, yesterday&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2010\/11\/22\/AR2010112201948.html?wprss=rss_religion\/wires\">Washington Post<\/a> reported the murder of two Iraqi Christians shortly following the deaths of 68 others in Baghdad.<\/p>\n<p>Asia Bibi declared innocent is a reason to rejoice today.
