\n meetings, meetings, meetings\u2014I can\u2019t stand one more!<\/em>
\n Meetings for this, meetings for that. I hate them!<\/em>
\n You\u2019ve worn me out!<\/em>
\n I\u2019m sick of your religion, religion, religion,<\/em>
\n while you go right on sinning.<\/em>
\n When you put on your next prayer-performance,<\/em>
\n I\u2019ll be looking the other way.<\/em>
\n No matter how long or loud or often you pray,<\/em>
\n I\u2019ll not be listening.<\/em>
\n And do you know why? Because you\u2019ve been tearing<\/em>
\n people to pieces, and your hands are bloody.<\/em>
\n Go home and wash up.<\/em>
\n Clean up your act.<\/em>
\n Sweep your lives clean of your evildoings<\/em>
\n so I don\u2019t have to look at them any longer.<\/em>
\n Say no to wrong.<\/em>
\n Learn to do good.<\/strong><\/em>
\n Work for justice.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>
\nHelp the down-and-out.<\/strong><\/em>
\n Stand up for the homeless.<\/em>
\n Go to bat for the defenseless.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

This message is as relevant to us today as it was to the Israelites about 2,700 years ago. We certainly live in a sinful nation, but the good news is that there\u2019s a movement in the church that\u2019s learning to do good, seeking justice, and helping the oppressed.<\/p>\n

While this website (and coming book) is the\u00a0joint vision of a few men, it\u2019s not about what we\u2019re doing. Rather it\u2019s about the work that we see happening through the Body of Christ around us.<\/p>\n

We believe that Christians are supposed to do more than offer religious worship or other sometimes meaningless practices. We\u2019re supposed to do something<\/em>. We\u2019re supposed to have an activist<\/em> faith. Not because we have to, but because it\u2019s the natural response to the free gift of salvation that we\u2019ve been given.<\/p>\n

Here at ActivistFaith.org we hope to offer the stories and news that will feed this movement of Christian activists. We\u2019ll share the stories of everyday activists, and bring updates from organizations who are doing good work. And all this with one goal in mind\u2026<\/p>\n

We want to be a catalyst for this generation to change the world for Christ!<\/em><\/p>\n
