As you know I am a firm supporter in the use of positive energy in my life and in the life of the people I work with. My book “The Law of Sobriety” is based on the Law of Attraction and encourages people to learn to use the positive energy in the world around them to create the life and space that they want and desire. Having loving, positive, supportive relationships can only happen if the person in recovery is open to accepting these relationships in his or her life. And this is all based on truly being able to love yourself, get rid of negative, toxic relationships and open your heart to the truly great ones.

For individuals that have had problems with addiction in their lives accepting the fact that the universe wants to provide this positive relationships is often a mental hurdle that has to be crossed. Addicts may see themselves as deeply flawed, unworthy or undeserving of a wonderful, supportive and positive relationship. This is because they are still filled with emotional negativity and negative thoughts. Only by purging those negative emotions and energy can your heart and mind be opened for new and better options.
One way to encourage the positive emotion and energy of love into your life is through a pet. Dogs, cats and other pets that show affection and attention are a wonderful addition to your family. Your love and caring for your pet will make you feel good and you will experience more positive emotions because of the unconditional love to and from your pet. As you feel good about yourself in this relationship and open your heart up to feeling love and loved, the opportunities for more relationships on this positive level will present themselves in your life. Learning to love and be loved is the basis for a real change in the way we see the world around us and our pets can be a wonderful source of this love and positive energy.
