Today is Day 22 of my 31 Days of Self-Love posts to celebrate Self-Love Month with suggestions for jump-starting your own self-love and joining The Self-Love Movement™.

This is post 220 in my series on the Law of Attraction in Action. You CAN use your power to manifest your desires.. I do it every day! Read all the posts in my Law of Attraction in Action Series to see how.

Living with a positive vibration helps build and keep self-love strong. It also attracts the best things and situations for your life, which feels good and nourishes you. But many of us hold on to old memories of negative things from the past and talk about them as an example of what we don’t want. That reinforces what you don’t want because the Law of Attraction picks up on lack, even if you don’t want it, that you don’t deserve good things, even if you’re working on feeling deserving, and other things you don’t want. When what you don’t want is in your thoughts, or you talk about it, that’s what’s heard and returned to you.

If you tell stories of how hard it’s been to feel lack, it conflicts with your desire for more money. If you recount stories of past relationships with people who didn’t treat you well, it can defeat any efforts to meet a healthy partner. Often these negative stories are told to show what you’ve been through and why you why you’re determined to attract better than you’ve had in the past. But telling or thinking about these old stories keeps them alive! The Law of Attraction doesn’t interpret whether what you put out is what you want or don’t want. It just reinforces the story you tell or think about. And since negative emotions are stronger than positive ones, they have a stronger effect on your vibration than thinking about what you want.

Focusing on what you don’t want will not bring you what you desire. When you focus on negative memories that don’t feel good, your vibration is negative. And as I’ve said many times, your vibration attracts what you get. Recalling struggles or negative people or desires falling apart usually will make you feel uncomfortable and sad. It can also trigger feelings of anger, frustration and disappointment, which can trigger doubt and fear about whether history will repeat itself as you try to get the positive things. All of this keeps your vibration negative, and history is likely to repeat itself.

Change your stories instead! Talk and think about all the good you’re expecting and how your life will improve when you get it. Feel the good vibration of visualizing your life being better, having more money, and a wonderful romantic partner. Only allow yourself to have stories that feel good to tell.. That will bring much happier results. If your vibration is negative, it’s hard to love yourself. When you think about experiences that made you feel unworthy, it’s hard to have a vibration that says you deserve love. Keeping your thoughts and the stories you tell on a positive track sets your vibration to let love in. Positive vibes make you happy, which is a great way to say, “I love me!”
