Former NFL MVP and Arizona Cardinals QB, Kurt Warner tore ligaments in his left (non-throwing) elbow yesterday during a game.
Last night he apparently sent out an email to family and friends saying he expected God would miraculously cure him before his MRI today.
There have been more than a few barbs thrown at him today. Frankly, when I read the story, I rolled my eyes. I thought that it was silly and that it presumed God would care about the elbow of a rich quarterback when there is so much suffering in the world, etc.

But the more I’ve thought about it the more I respect him for his faith. If Jesus teaches us anything through the Gospels it is that faith matters. It isn’t that faith will guarantee an easy life or guarantee a desired outcome. It is that faith orients us to the God who is able to do all things.
Would that I had such faith that I believed, truly believed, God’s miraculous touch was imminent.
