Mark Ruffalo spent his teen years in Virginia Beach, Virginia and sometimes went by the name Gavin Gruffallo. He later moved to San Diego and then Los Angeles with his family where he cofounded the Orpheus Theatre Company. Ruffalo spent the mid-2000s acting as a romantic lead in movies such as “View From the Top” and “13 Going on 30” before transitioning into more diverse roles.
