Nancy Kerrigan is an actress and figure skater best known for the infamous attack that occurred before the 1994 Winter Olympics. Kerrigan was attached with a police baton in January 1994, less than a month before the Olympics. The attack was perpetrated by her rival Tonya Harding's ex-husband who hired the assailant. Kerrigan managed to recover in time to compete at the Olympics where she won a silver medal, and Harding was permanently banned from competitive figure skating. Prior to the 1994 Olympics, Kerrigan had won a bronze Olympic medal.
