Alicia Christian Foster, better known as Jodie Foster, began working as a child model and actress at the age of three. She got her big break, however, when she was 14 and played a child prositute in Scorsese's 1976 thriller "Taxi Driver." Her work in the film earned her her first nomination for an Academy Award. She struggled to transition into adult roles until she played a rape survivor in "The Accused." She earned her first Academy Award for her work on the film, and she won her second three years later for her portrayal of Clarice Starling in "The Silence of the Lambs."
