Evans grew more famous for playing Steve Rodgers/Captain America in various Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, from “Captain America: The First Avenger” to “Avengers: Endgame.” His work in the franchise established him as one of the world’s highest-paid actors. Aside from his comic book roles, Evans has starred in “Gifted,” “Knives Out,” the TV miniseries “Defending Jacob,” and “The Gray Man.” He also voiced Buzz Lightyear in Pixar’s “Lightyear.”

In 2014, Evans made his directorial debut with “Before We Go,” which he also produced and starred in. He made his Broadway debut in the 2018 revival of Kenneth Lonergan’s play “Lobby Hero,” which earned him a Drama League Award nomination. Evans was born in Boston, Massachusetts and grew up in the nearby town of Sudbury. He has two sisters and a brother. As a child, Evans enjoyed musical theater and attended acting camp. He played Randolph MacAfee in the musical “Bye Bye Birdie.” He and his siblings also performed in front of relatives during Christmases, recalling that being onstage “felt like home.”

What religion is Chris Evans?

Evans is a Catholic who was raised in a devout household, but he insists it wasn’t forced upon him. However, he isn’t devoted to Catholicism anymore and prefers science over religion. He said, “I believe in science. I believe in evolution. I don’t necessarily believe in God, at least not the man with the beard and robes and things like that. God can be whatever you want it to be; it’s the universe, the thing that connects all of us, this innate energy that’s in the air, animals, trees, that’s God.”

Evans has previously expressed interest in Buddhism. He discussed his experience at a Buddhist retreat, saying,  “I attend a Buddhist class here in LA, and the woman who teaches had trained there. So we all went and stayed in this little village for about three weeks, hiked the Himalayas, and camped on the banks of the Ganga. It was great.”
