Brian Dozier was born in Fulton, Mississippi where he became a local baseball star. He played baseball in college for the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles and was selected for the Conference USA All-Freshman Team. He was part of the Southern Miss team that went to the College World Series in 2009. He was selected by the Minnesota Twins in the MLB Draft later that same year. He was called up in 2012 to replace Justin Morneau. In 2018, Dozier was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
