Katie Cassidy was raised by her mother and stepfather as her biological father, David Cassidy, was largely absent from her life. She began acting on TV in 2003, but got her big break in film with “When a Stranger Calls.” Her performance in the horror film was part of what saw her dumbed a Scream Queen. She later appeared in “Black Christmas” and “A Nightmare on Elm Street.” Further cementing her as a star of the horror genre, Cassidy also appeared in the popular horror-drama “Supernatural” as the recurring character Ruby. Though known for her work in horror and slasher films and TV shows, Cassidy also played one of the main characters in “Arrow,” a CW series based on the DC comics “the Green Arrow.”
