Patricia Arquette was born in Chicago in 1968. Her mother was Jewish, and her father converted from Catholicism to Islam. Arquette was interested in both acting and Catholicism at a young age. She refused to get braces because she felt having flaws would help with character acting, but she considered becomeing a nun as a teenager. She began acting in 1987 but did not get her big break until over 10 years later. She is perhaps best known for her work in the film "Boyhood" and her portrayal of Allison DeBois on the television series "Medium."
