There are many themes in the Bible, and overcoming fear is one of them. We deal with rejection, pain, disappointment in our lives, and sometimes there are no easy answers or solutions moving forward. But there is.

When al hope is gone, be empowered that you can turn to a trusted friend, the Bible, and read the words of Jesus-and so many that struggled with the same issues!

Pastor and author Rick Warren said we are acceptable to God, and we can go to the Creator.

“Not because of what we've done (we could never be good enough to be acceptable to a perfect God), but through what Jesus Christ has done. He died on the cross, paid for all our sins, and covered us with his love. God looks down and says, "What Jesus did was acceptable, and through him, you are now acceptable."

Here are verses to help you today if you're under attack from the enemy of fear.

Proverbs 29:25: “Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but trusting the LORD means safety.”

Isaiah 41:13: “For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.”

1 Chronicles 28:20: “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the LORD is finished.”

Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

Mark 5:36: “Don’t be afraid. Just have faith.”

John 6:19-20: “They had rowed three or four miles when suddenly they saw Jesus walking on the water toward the boat. They were terrified, but he called out to them, “Don’t be afraid. I am here!”

1 John 4:18: “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”

Psalm 94:19: “When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul.”

Isaiah 43:1: “But now, this is what the Lord says…Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name, you are mine.”

Joshua 1:9: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Psalm 37:1-40: "Fret not yourself because of evildoers; be not envious of wrongdoers! For they will soon fade like the grass and wither like the green herb. Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart."

Proverbs 3:5-8: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.”

Psalm 23:4: “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”

Luke 12:4-5: “My friends, I can guarantee that you don’t need to be afraid of those who kill the body. After that they can’t do anything more. I’ll show you the one you should be afraid of. Be afraid of the one who has the power to throw you into hell after killing you. I’m warning you to be afraid of him.”
