How much sleep should I get every night?
According to the National Sleep Foundation an adult needs around 7 - 9 hours of sleep each night. The foundation does say that there is no "real" number that can be predicted for each night because every person has a sleep need and debt. Sleep need is the amount of sleep our bodies need on a regular basis for optimal performance. While sleep debt means the amount of sleep you lost because of bad sleep habits, sickness, awakenings due to environmental factors or other causes.
