Exercise. Most depressed people feel so heavy they cannot even stand up, but you are going to have to get your assistant to help you go for a swim, a bike ride, a long walk, or into the gym for a Zumba class. Exercise stimulates natural chemicals in the body that fight depression. In fact, the more of a couch potato you are, the less chance that your body’s happy juices are working. You don’t have to win a marathon to get these benefits—just exercise at a rate that is vigorous for you.
