Milk
We may mindlessly pour milk into morning coffee but milk is a miracle venerated by devout Hindus. The energy of a yellow sun soaked up by green grass gets absorbed by a grazing brown cow that pours out pure white protein. This magical transference of heavenly sunshine to the inside of our earthly bodies is transubstantiation in real life. Milk, our direct source of solar power, is thus a holy gift. And because the seemingly lowly cow presents this transcendent offering to us, it is sacred.
