45-Minute Break: Mindful Walking
Take a spring walk. Look at the flowers, the trees, the homes - whatever's around you. Think about nothing at all. Instead, put your five senses to work. Truly see what you're seeing and hear what you're hearing - the lovely sight of budding flowers, the crunch of gravel underfoot. Try not to focus too much on the past, or think too much about the future. Stay in the present moment as much as possible. You'll be amazed through this exercise at how little you used your eyes, ears, nose and sense of touch under “normal” conditions - and you'll find that in “coming back to your senses” you bring healing to your soul.
