Mamahlf, I've read that cluster headaches are more painful than migraines. I'm sorry you suffer from them AND migraines. I didn't interpret the first line of the article the same way you did. We can't know the author's intention, how she wanted us to interpret it, but in general, I think a comment like "it's the worst" is more a cliche or slang; it's a saying. I think that often times when people say "it's the worst" they are exaggerating; they really simply mean "it's really bad," or "it's frustrating," or "it's a real inconvenience." They don't literally mean it's the WORST. When I say "it's the worst" and I mean that it is the worst, I say "it's the worst kind of headache" or "that is that is the worst pizza I've ever eaten." I read the line in the article to simply say - "migraines are really bad." Hopefully the author, Diane Goldner, will comment here and let us know what her intention truly was with that line. This just goes to show how important it is to be clear when you write for the web, and anywhere else for that matter. We read so much on the internet everyday, at least I do. I just assume I'm interpreting it as it was intended - but I'm undoubtedly wrong sometimes. Hopefully, I read enough different articles on the same subject that I do understand the information correctly. Maybe other readers will comment on their interpretation of the first line of this article. That would be kind of fun :) Thank you, Mamahlf for getting me to think this morning. I am sorry you suffer with such severe headaches. Can you do anything to prevent them? Maybe you should write an article comparing the two kinds of headaches. Sending you healing light , jamminsoul

The state you make "Migraine headaches are the worst. I know--" To make a statement like that, 'worst you know' meant you haven't done your research completely... I would rather have one migraine a day for a year, than to have one Cluster Head a month for a year... Yep you read it correctly.. Where I admit Migraine are bad (for I suffer with them also); I can get in a quite dark room, put some ice on my head.. take some over the counter Tylenol, and feel better after a while.. When I have a cluster attack, I cry, walk, bang my head, Pray and scream... Clusters have been documented as "THE WORST PAIN KNOWN TO MAN KIND", by many, many headache specialist. There is nothing over the counter that can help or stop them other than Pure Oxygen administered at a very high flow. The nick name for CH is "SUICIDE HEADACHES"... Peace & Blessings Mamahlf

Please do not overlook the importance of balancing your bloodsugar properly to avoid headache/migraine. Make sure you are not skipping meals..in fact, eat a meal/snack that contains both protein and fiber every 3-4 hours.
