Sometimes, the process of spiritual weight loss involves parts of your life totally removed from food, exercise, feelings, and religion. Sometimes, the best way to help yourself is to help someone else.
Get involved in your life. Do something important for someone else. Take an hour a week, and give some service to someone else.
Does your local hospital need a volunteer to help cheer patients up? How about helping an orphan or foster child with their homework? May be the local public radio station could use your skills in answering phones, or cataloging recordings. Can you play the piano or guitar? I bet a nearby senior citizen home would love a tune or two! Is there a community garden that could use some digging or composting (you’ll get your daily activity done there at the same time!)
