It never pays to rush. I learned this the other day, trying to save time by running to get something out of my car. I tripped, fell, landed on my face, and knocked my tooth out. Ouch! I was thinking about a bunch of things, stressed out, too busy, and the last thing I was paying attention to was where I was going. I would only have saved a few seconds by running instead of walking – instead, it cost me hours (and lots of money) at the dentist repairing my cracked front tooth. It also cost me lots of pain, bandages, and ointment to heal my wounds! Had I just walked, watching my steps as I usually do, instead of thinking about how rushed I was and what I needed to get from my car, I wouldn’t have fallen. Now I’m taking my time and doing things carefully, one step at a time. I’m being mindful of my actions, and focusing my thoughts on what I’m doing at the moment, not in the future.
