If you are on the run or away from a grocery or healthy restaurant and have no other choice but fast food, don't fall for the "I'll have lower fat fried fish or chicken" myth. Many of us believe that red meat is more caloric and fatty. Actually, the deep-fried stuff is more caloric and full of fat than the red meat! (Ask for a nutrition list and you’ll see the difference).
Have grilled chicken, instead. Grilling is definitely less fattening than frying. A few fast-food chains actually grill over an open flame – this allows the fat to drip off – which is best.
Be careful, though, to request they hold the mayonnaise or fatty sauces. Those can make a grilled sandwich very caloric and unhealthy. Use mustard, ketchup, spices, or relish for flavor instead.
