I always say to people I work with that it’s OK to eat absolutely anything, as long as it’s in moderation, and not on a regular basis. The same goes for fast foods. As busy as we all are these days, sometimes it seems there's just no alternative to grabbing a meal on the run. But be careful! Fast food joints often have popular "combination meals." They make you think you’re saving money by ordering them, but in reality, it’s almost the same price as a la carte and you end up eating a whole lot more. Worse, they work hard to get you to "super size it" and entice you to eat way too much. Instead of meal combos – have just one sandwich and skip the fries. Better yet, get a grilled chicken sandwich, instead of the deep-fat-fried variety. And ask them to hold the mayo, or sauce. Instead of fries, have a side salad. Instead of sugary soda, ask for seltzer (club soda) with a lemon, or a hot drink like tea or coffee. Skip the combo; it’s not worth staying fat over.
