Before the busy day carries your attention away, take a moment to collect yourself. Start the day with five minutes of silence, after you've groomed, but before breakfast. Close your eyes, and focus on your breathing. IN and OUT, letting all thoughts pass by without taking your attention away. Just let the thoughts float along without letting them land in your mind. As the five-minute interlude begins to be over, be thankful for the opportunity to be alive and for this silent time. Then, throughout the day, take a few seconds and just breathe. Before a meal, have some silence. While in the restroom, really rest with some silence. Before a phone call, close your eyes and collect yourself. These silent moments add up to a full day of peace. A full day of peace helps you stay with your spiritual, physical, and emotional practices.
