This touched my heart because this could have been or still could be my son addicted to cocaine. He is on the raod to recovery at this time and my prayer is that he will overcome this and be an inspiration to other young people. My heart goes out to you and your family. Dear Lord,
Please help my son Jason Robert, he has fallen into addiction again. He is back to his old habits again and I am at a total loss. My heart is broken but I will not give up on him and I know that you will forgive and still be there for him. Please Lord help him with this constant struggle to give up the drugs and see that happiness can be found in you. Please Lord open his heart to accept your love and feel your peace. Please take the evil of addiction away. I ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen

I indirectly lost my little girl due to drugs. She was born to a drug addict who abandoned her. We adopted her and she had a congenital heart defect(most likely from her mother's addiction) My Katie had open heart surgery at 21 months and sadly died three days later.
My prayers with Tommy's family and all who are struggling with addiction. My son has a marijuana habit he is trying desperately to overcome and it breaks my heart. My name is Dana and I am a recovering addict. I know how terribly hard it is to be in the grips of the disease known as addiction. I also know how hard it is for the family and friends to watch their loved one destroying their lives with drugs. I am the oldest of 6 children and the other 5 ALL have had or still have problems with this insidious disease.

Support groups do help all of us, but the pain in our hearts engulfs us and it is impossible to make the addict stop using unless they want to.

I pray for you, Tommy, that you are at peace from the demons that took you away. You are loved and will always be loved. You are with God now and your spirit will be at peace. My heart goes out to all family and friends who might think that they could have done something more to help Tommy, but please don't ever blame yourself. Please remember this is a sickness, an illness and I say this from my heart as I had to witness my brother and sister "out of control" this past weekend. I cringe sometimes when the telephone rings. I constantly pray to the Lord and I find that I don't want to argue for fear of alienating myself, but I pray to take away my anger. But we are human and get frustrated. Remember you are not alone. We have our God and our family and friends who love and support us. And if there is any solace in what I have to say, we are/were powerless over this disease. May you find comfort as each minute, hour, day goes by. Tonight I will say a prayer for Tommy and for you, too. I live in fear all the time, but it helps me to pray to God, knowing that He is in charge. He is the one who will comfort you, hold you in his arms and help you in time to remember all the good that you shared with your son. And remember, Tommy wasn't a bad person; he was a sick person. Hello all, I have spent the afternoon reading these prayers. The only addiction I have is smoking I quit in January but like a fool I started back up, I need lots of prayers to quit smoking. My Daughter is a recovering addict and alocholic. She lost her two boys,and hwer Daughter, she has her Daughter back home now. My Husband and I had custody of the boys until their father deceided he wanted them after he hadn`t even tried to see them for 7 years, they were 10 and 11 years old, one will be 18 in December and Praise the Lord he is coming home to us. He is a Christian . We only get to see them once a year cause it costs us over $1000.00 to go see them. Please pray for all of us. I just had a toe amputed in January. And I am a diebetic so my health isn`t the best. God Bless you all Amen

Sweet merciful savior, bless this family with your Holy Spirit. Help us to overcome all of our problems, by giving them to you. Carry us, Lord. Help us to become worry free; to be strong with your spirit. To help each other. Lord, my son, Jason Ryan needs you more than ever. Descend upon him; make things happen quickly. Set him free. You have given him another chance in this life. I am most thankful, Lord. I ask that he now be able to prove himself. It will be hard, but please give him that chance. You know him; you know Jason's heart; his soul. Show him how to be a leader - to teach others to be strong and say NO. Lord, I don't know if I can wait all these years. My own son (and only child) is waiting to get into a residential rehabilitation program. He has been a heroin addict for 14 years. As a result, like many others here I am sure, our family is emotionally, physically, and financially drained.

Bring healing to us and to all others in our situation.

PLEASE PRAY FOR MY 35 Y/O SON, TIM, WHO HAS HAD A CRACK ADDICTION FOR MANY YEARS, I AND MY FAMILY AND HIS WIFE, AND 4 CHILDREN HAVE BEEN FIGHTING THIS BATTLE WITH HIM FOR MANY YEARS. HE HAS BEEN IN REHABS. FOR A FEW DAYS AT A TIME, BUT THIS HAS NEVER HELPED. HE HAS GOTTEN SAVED AND BAPTIZED IN THE LAST 2 WEEKS, BUT HE STILL NEEDS LOTS OF PRAYERS, BECAUSE HE HAS ALREADY USED SINCE THEN, AND IN THE PAST HAS TRIED TO COMMIT SUICIDE. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH, NOT JUST BECAUSE HE'S MY ONLY CHILD, BUT BECAUSE I KNOW WITH GOD'S HELP AND EVERYONE'S PRAYERS, HE WILL BE CURED OF THIS TERRIBLE DISEASE. Have not been on the site for a while. I guess this is a hint not to leave because my life has started to fall apart. My boss cut me down to part-time because of his financial difficulties and wants me to look for a new job so even the part-time is temp. I loved almost everything about my job plus it was great pay. I'm already having financial problems because I went off the deep end and gambled too much. I just pray that I can recover before I lose my car or house etc. Pray for me please - BA - hope all is well with you and Kris, hope you are doing well also. Lord Heavenly Father, please watch over and protect this family in thier time of grief. Lord, please help me to understand my mother's addiction, please help me to support her in all she does. Please help me to love her unconditionally whether she quits drinking or not. Please give us strength in this hard time. Please help my mother deal with her siezures and please help her to help herself. Please give her confidence and self-esteem, please help her understand that she can get better. Dear Merciful Heavenly Father:

I thank you Lord for blessing me with a Sister who has been a friend as well as a sister for most of our lives. As the years have gone by she has become more and more addicted to presciption drugs (Pain Medication) and it is ruining her life,making her miserable and hurting her family relationsips. Give me the knowledge, sensitivity and strength to do and say the things that are helpful. Also the strength to overcome the anger I feel, which I understand is actually fear and hurt.

Give her strength, Lord to overcome the addiction; Give her peace, Lord through the Holy Spirit, the comfortor and give her the prescence of mind to get the help she needs.

Heavenly Father hears my prayers and the prayers of those who suffer from addiction. I have been with a lovely man for two years who is fighting the demons of addiction. His family no longer has anything to do with him and I am the only person who has not turned their back or stopped believing that he can get well. I pray that God can show him the path to righteousness and recovery. I know that the man I fell in love with is not the man that I am seeing today but because of the precious gift of love God has given I believe that it is my earthly mission to continue to help him. Please pray that he is safe and that he will get the help that he needs. I pray all the time and I know that I need help in doing this. I know what God and prayer will do, I have seen it for myself. Please pray for my boyfriend Guy. He is a recovering addict and cannot seem to let go of it. I have done all that I know how to do and prayer is the only remedy that I know will truly work when a person believes. We are powerless over this problem and powerless over anyone's life but our own. Lord, I am asking for you to breath into their very souls, the gift of life; your light of hope. Sweet Jesus, guide Joel to his brother. Help them both to recapture that closeness they have shared growing up. Bring all of Joels' pain out into the open, so they can both heal. Help David & I to heal.

Lord you are the true conquerer. Through you addictions are broken as chains are broken for those in bondage. God our nation is sick because of these drugs, the illness leaves grieving families all over the creation, broken bodies, and vessels of suffering.
