For those with chronic diseases and illnesses
Chronic Diseases Prayer Circle

This circle is for all who suffer with chronic diseases and disorders and in need of prayer and support from others.

There are many who are afflicted with chronic diseases such as lupus, MS, fibromylagia, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome and others, or may have children or other family members and friends who suffer with these conditions. The prayer circle can be here for the many ups and downs that come with these illnesses, as well as the tests that most have to go through when having a flare or time of activity in their symptoms. This can be a place to come for prayers when support is needed and also to give thanks and praise to God for remissions and times that we feel well.

Dear Lord,
Thank You for this wonderful website which has uplifted me in just the few minutes that I have been reading it. I also suffer from a chronic illness known as fibromyalgia syndrome/myofascial pain syndrome. There are days when I feel so bad and days when I hurt so bad that I just want to scream. There are days when I have had so little sleep and just wish for the blissful peace of slumber. I really do think that if I didn't believe in God that I would have lost my mind by now or had a nervous breakdown. But I also know that this most likely happened after the birth of my son. I had problems at delivery and they had to do an emergency c section. One week later I was back in the hospital because of a life-threatening hemmorhage. During surgery, thank the Lord, the doctors found that my whole incision sit e was horribly infected. I spent 9 more days in the hospital for these wonderful medical people to make me well. And there were many times I called for the Lord and asked Him to help me to make it through and to endure the things that they must do to make me well. They aren't totally sure what causes fibro but they do believe that most people have either had a traumatic accident or an infection. But I feel that if this is the price I have to pay to be able to look at my beautiful and healthy son every day, well then I will pay it. Please Lord, keep me and all these other beautiful people in Your love. We need you to help us get through each and every day. And help our families and loved ones to understand what we go through with our illnesses. I wish that everyone would keep me in their thoughts and prayers as I get ready to start seeing a new doctor(we just moved to this area)and pray that the good Lord guides him in his care of me and helps me to be better able to deal with my illness. Thank you all and God Bless. Karen

I want to pray today for my husband. He has hepatitis c and stays sick a lot of the time. He also gets very depresed because he is sick. I pray for all the families who live with and someone who suffers from illness. It is hard on all considered. I pray God that you give me strength to hold it all together. I pray for encouragement and the words to say to comfort my husband. I also pray God for the strength to be firm when it is needed. Be with us all in your name.

MelodyA: I will pray for you today, that you will be given a correct diagnosis and medication that will make you better; also that you will feel God's love and healing power in your life. We know that God is able to heal all of us who suffer, and in His own wisdom and time, He will do so. Know that you are among friends and prayer warriors. God bless you.
Karen: I, too, suffer from fibro and myofacial pain syndrome; it is no fun. I will pray for you today, that God will deliver you from suffering. I believe there will come a time that a cure will be found for these horrible diseases, until then I will trust that God will take care of us. I know of the pain and fatigue you suffer; I know that fibro causes depression, also. Anyone who suffers from this much pain is going to have times of depression. I will ask God to give you a good day today. I have not ever gone into remission since I started with this, but I have heard of people who do. We will pray for a period of remission to gain strength for the next flare. I have learned to take pleasure in the smallest things since I've been sick, maybe this will help you. For instance, my buttercups had bloomed when I got up this morning. I cried when I saw how beautiful they were; they reminded me once again that God is always present, and gives us such beauty to enjoy. Also remember that while this illness is very painful and limiting to your lifestyle, aren't we grateful that we have a chronic illness as opposed to a fatal one? God is good!!!!! God bless you and I hope this helps.
MisCarla, I will pray for you today and for your husband and family. God will supply you with the strength you need. God bless you.
Dolphin: I will pray for you today and ask God to heal your eye. I am sorry you have had such a hard time lately. I knew you were in need of prayer; I have felt it several times lately when I was praying.
Prayer circle friends: How many of you believe in fasting and praying? Is anyone out there interested in setting aside a day or part of a day soon to fast and pray for all these in our midst who have asked for prayer for themselves or family members. I believe in individual prayers, also in group prayers. Let me know if you are interested in joining me in a fast and prayer session. Let's feel the presence of God in this joining ofhearts and minds. You may email me at mac4baers@yahoo.com or just let me know on the prayer circle today or tomorrow if you are interested. May God bless each one of you. Love, Cheryl

My prayer is for msharp's daughter with ulcerative colitis. I pray that she finds the guidance she needs to improved health, whether that be from surgery ( resection or ostomy ) or medication. This is a hard road to travel. I know, I am an IBD sufferer myself with an ileostomy for 20 years. It is only through the prayers of others and my belief in our heavenly father that I have gotten through many difficult times.

This prayer is offered for cdbaer, MelodyA and Karen who are all fibromyalgia sufferes as I. Through lots of research I have learned that fibromyalgia often has familial connections. My prayer extends to the members of their families who may have this and know of it or not. Fibromyalgia is often disabling, depressing, frustrating and always painful. My thanks go to God when I have a day without pain and there have been few in the past 7 years. I give thanks too, for the small things in life. My grandchildren doing something special, the first robbin's song, and after this cold WI winter it will be the first blade of green grass. My fibromyalgia appeared 13 years after my ostomy surgery and I pray tha msharp's daughter will be spared this problem. However, with God's help I have learned to be stronger in ways I never imagined. My inner strength has taken over where my outward strength no longer exists. Many frustrations seem smaller, except those dealing with my own health. In time I pray I can overcome them too and I pray that each of you will overcome the pain and frustration that you feel also. I am new to this site, but already I have a connection to several that have similar problems to mine. I am grateful to have been led here and hope to hear from someone in return. Until then, take care, Linda

I am a firm believer in the power of prayer. For 10 mths. now I have had Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy which is a disease of the sympathetic nervous system that keeps you in constant pain. However from the beginning I have believed that God has had a plan for me and this has been His way of getting my attention. I now have the best relationship with Him that I have had since I was a child. I welcome the pain because it brought me back to the Lord. I pray that God brings each of you comfort and guidance where needed, healing when it is His divine will and strength in all others. With God's love all things are possible. I would truly wish for the world to have the peace that I have now even in the midst of the pain. The relationship with my heavenly father, God that has brought me what I have been searching for my entire life. May God bless each and every one of His children and open the eyes of those who do not know Him. So I join with you in prayer and support for whatever your own personal needs may be that God may help you and touch you, comfort you, heal you or whatever it is that you may need right now at this point in your life even if it is just a friend to stand by you in troubled times. I pray for God to be there for you in whatever capacity you may need to carry you thru these rough times. Although it may not seem like it while you are going thru it now, He does have a plan and everything will be alright in the end. Just remember He is there for you and will hold you thru the worst. These things I ask in His most loving and holy name, Amen.

As I read all these prayers I wonder how we all make it through a day , let alnoe a week or a year with all this pain. My fibro/chronic fatique/ibs/is now pushing at me. I feel like I cannot take another day of pain, or people saying"you don't LOOK sick". I have quit my job , but cannot collect disability because I am not sick enough. At what level do "they realize you need all the help you can get? I am facing some dark days and I don't see how I can do this. I have been praying, but as of yet I am still losing what bit of me I had left and I have a hard time going through each day. I do pray ffor you all, and maybe that is what I need to do to release my pain and anger that seems to make my days. peace to yooou all. lynn

My sister Jane is suffering from migraines and panic attacks and I have fibromyalgia and mixed connective tissue disorder. Right now I am having a flare and need prayers for relief from joint (hip)pain, back pain, inflammation and weakness. I am praying for all those here who suffer--may our prayers go around the world, helping those we know and those we don't know, but who are our sisters and brothers in the Spirit. From your sister in Christ, Laura

I have just found this site and I am so excited to find friends who trust in God and His promise to be with us no matter what we face. I am a 51 year old single mother of a 10 year old son. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia (severe), Osteoarthritis, and Osteoporosis in my back. I live in daily pain. I am on 14 different medications, one of which is low dose Morphine twice a day just to be able to keep the pain to a level where I am able to move. I am sick and in pain every day of my life. I was a Critical Care RN for 25 years before this came upon me. Now all I can do is work as a Secretary. My salery has dropped $32,500 a year, but the bills are the same and now the staggering medical bills are added to it. I have recently falling into a deep depression. I feel like I am in a deep dark pit with no way out, and completely helpless. I have no energy, no interest in living, or doing anything, I want to sleep all the time, and I think about death constantly. I am so very scared, that I don't know what to do. I am trying to start my own Medical Transcription business, but I don't have the money to take a course to become certified. I am afraid that if my health continues to go down hill, that my ex-husband will get my son if I am not able to support him. My ex-husband is an alcoholic and abuser. I don't want my son to have to live like that. Please, please pray for me and my situation. I know the LORD never gives us more that we can handle, but I feel like I am at the bottom of my rope with no knot to hang onto. Dear LORD, please help me. You know what I need even more that I do. Please let me be able to keep my son and provide a home for him so he doesn't have to go live with an abusive drunk. Thank you LORD for all the blessings that you have bestowed upon me and my family. I know that if it was not for You, I would never have made it this far. Please LORD, help all of us who are faced with a chronic disease, and give us the strength to carry out each day as it comes. Thank you for leading me to this web site, where I can talk with other Christians who are facing the same problems that I am facing. I love you LORD with all my heart. Donna

I need some prayers please. I am a recent amputee {4/99}, and I am still learing how to walk again. This has been and still is a very hard struggle for me because I was a very independent woman at one time. I do not like the fact that I have to depend on others to help me with quite a few things. I go to physical therapy 3 times a week and I feel that I am moving backwards instead of forward. I make some progress, then it's 20 steps back. For two years I have been at this task and still I feel like I am failing. I am depressed the majority of the time as well. I am asking the Heavenly Father to please give me strength and patience to percerviere ahead. So please, pray for me.

I was touched deeply by all the requests for prayer and would like to add my own for my husband who has acute renal disease. I pray that God will give him the faith and courage to face what is ahead for him and for myself to know how to help him through this.
