For those with chronic diseases and illnesses
Chronic Diseases Prayer Circle

This circle is for all who suffer with chronic diseases and disorders and in need of prayer and support from others.

There are many who are afflicted with chronic diseases such as lupus, MS, fibromylagia, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome and others, or may have children or other family members and friends who suffer with these conditions. The prayer circle can be here for the many ups and downs that come with these illnesses, as well as the tests that most have to go through when having a flare or time of activity in their symptoms. This can be a place to come for prayers when support is needed and also to give thanks and praise to God for remissions and times that we feel well.

Dear Prayer Circle Friends: I just found this site by accident (or was is God's intervention?) I think so. As I read the prayers, I almost started to cry. I felt like the man who cried because he had no shoes, until he met a man who had no feet. I will be praying for everyone tonight. I have had congestive heart failure, two heart attacks, asthma, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, diabetes, chronic bowel syndromes, sleep apnea and major depression due to trying to cope with what life has handed out to me. Jesus is my very best friend and I don't know what I would do without Him. He has given me a sense of humor and a strong willed spirit to keep me going. Without prayer, my life would seem empty and very lonely. May the Lord hear all of our prayers and Bless us and give us the peace we so desperately need on a daily basis. Because I can deal with all of my illnesses, with the help from above, I am only asking for prayers to help with the financial problems that come from being sick and unable to work. I have worked all of my life in social services, helping teens and adults by assisting them on getting back into school or by getting jobs. Noone will hire me now because I am not dependable anymore. I can no longer say to a new employer, "HIre me, I will give my usual 150%. I can be depended upon to get the job done." I can't say this anymore because I never know when I am going to have a good day. Social Security turned me down three times. When I finally had my last hearing before the Soc. Sec. judge, he ruled in my favor but then, ruled against me. Somehow, during all of his hearings, he forgot what he granted to me and I was turned down again. The case is now before the final committee to see what went wrong, but it has almost been a year since they had my case, and I still have not heard anything from them. No denial and no acceptance. Nothing. It's like I don't exist. My lawyer tells me not to bug the office as they resent getting calls. I called my congressman, Lane Evans, for assistance today. Please, pray that he will be able to talk to the right people and get some answers for me. This is giving more stress than my illnesses, as I am getting deeper and deeper in debt. The Lord always provides for me though. It seems that I always have just enough money to keep me out of trouble with my creditors. It is all I ever ask of Him. And, He comes through, as a best Friend should! I know He hears my prayers, so I know He will hear my prayers as I pray for all of my new found friends. Thank you, in advance for all of your prayers. God, please Bless and keep my new friends in peace and love. Patti

Please pray for my mother who has Rheumatoid Arthritis. She is in pain everyday, but isn't one to complain. But I know she feels miserable. Please pray for healing and comfort. She is only 41 and has had it for 5 or 6 years. She thinks her hands are ugly because of it. Thanks

Hello to my dear friends in the Prayer Circle. I have been offline for a few days and in returning I see our Circle is becoming bigger with more members who are in need of prayer. I am so pleased to see how we are turning to one another for prayer and support and each and every new member, as well as the ones who have been coming here since the beginning are in my prayers for them, as well as their families and friends who suffer from chronic disorders. What is so beautiful is that all are carrying burdens so very heavy, but know the power of prayer - praying for one another. My prayer tonight as I go to bed is that all of you dear new friends will feel God's love for you in a special way that will give you the strength and courage to cope with what you have, and to always want to reach out to others to give them comfort and support. May God's blessings pour down on each and everyone of you.

Love and Prayers,
Dolphin

Patti,
I just wanted to come back on to say that I know the battle you are going through with regards to getting Social Security Disability Benefits. I was turned down at first, but when I reapplied, it went to another area, and with the help of my doctor writing a good report, I finally was accepted. That was back in 1989. Since then, my health deteriorated even worse and when they informed me that they were going to do a revaluation of my conditions, I sent in all the hospital admissions and operations I had on my spine, etc. through the years and they wrote back that they were not going to do the revaluation after all. It seems that your lawyer should be doing more to get things moving for you, but perhaps your congressman might be able to help you. I pray that this matter can be resolved soon for you. I did receive my SSDB, but unfortunately I missed out getting State disability by only a few months. I was not able to work those months needed in that I collapsed totally at work one day and was taken out by ambulance and was never able to return. I will be praying for you regarding this matter, and please do come on and let us know what is happening. God Bless you, Patti and keep fighting.

My prayers are for all who are suffering and in need of our prayers to God for healing. I have no one to pray for me and hopefully this will reach someone who is willing to help. I have trouble with my lungs and airways. I have asthma now and when the latest flu or virus is ging around, I seem to get it 3 times worse. I know I need to quit smoking, which would be a tremendous help, but each time I try, things just seem to fall apart and i find myself smoking more. I pray to the Lord everyday, but I seem to get no answers. I know he is with me always, but can't seem to understand why miracles work for some and I feel totally deserted. I don't blame the Lord for my problems, as I am the one who made the wrong decisions in life. If anyone is listening, I hope you can pray for me and anyone else who has been in this same place. As a Christian, my prayers are for peace in each of our lives today. God bless you and whoever sent me this email. Up to now, I didn't know where to turn. Maybe this was my miracle for the day.

This prayer is for my mother who suffers from fibromyalgia, environmental illness, and chronic pain from wearing dentures over deteriorating jaw bone. She's also struggling through a divorce now and has no money. She's trying to work now to support herself (she lives with me now and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to take care of her, but I'm getting married soon and she's insistent on not being a "burden" to us). But it's very painful and draining for her, and she doesn't know if she can keep up much longer. She's only 50.

Even though my mother is Protestant, this is the prayer to seems most appropriate to me:

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy
our life, our sweetness and our hope.
To you we cry, poor banished children of Eve,
To you we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn then, most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy toward us,
and after this exile show unto us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
Pray for us, O holy Mother of God
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Amen.

I used to smoke Newports, 3packs a day. One day a minister was on the radio talking about when she used to smoke. She said that Her body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. She said if Jesus came to visit you and HE was talking to you, Would you blow SMOKE-RINGS in HIS FACE? Every time you INHALE your ciggarette, you are Blowing Smoke in the FACE of the CHRIST that Lives in you! Well, as i listened and visualized myself Blowing smoke rings in Jesus Face, I started to choke on my cigarette! I had smoked for 25 years, but that very moment, I couldn't take another puff. That was 6 years ago. I hope this helps, Victoria. GOD Bless you Dear Heart.

Victoria711:
I found this prayer circle several weeks ago, and have felt the strength of the fellow Christians here. I have fibromyalgia, and some days hurt so badly that I cannot do much of anything. I smoked until ten months ago, and could still really want to do so if it wasn't for the grace of God. I have been a Christian for many, many years, but still did smoke. I know where you are; I have been there. I suddenly got very sick last March; had always been a very high-energy, healthy person, and had smoked for 21 years. Last year when I was suddenly stricken with this illness, it was as if the holy spirit laid such a burden of guilt on me for smoking. I had wanted to quit before, and had even tried to quit, but just couldn't quite master it. Then last year, I asked God to take the desire to smoke away from me, to actually remove the desire, not just the addiction. I put my pack of cigarettes
on top of my refrigerator on April 15, and have not smoked one since. Try my approach, please; it did work for me ( and I thought I was beyond hope on this issue). I will pray for you; maybe God will remove the desire from you and replace it with holy thoughts and prayer needs as He did for me. I won't tell you that I have never again wished for a cigarette, but the times have been very few and I know that with God's help I do not need to smoke. It has been such a blessing to be smoke-free. I know now why I could not succeed before; I did not totally depend on God to take away this sin. I am going to spend some special time in prayer just for you today. Please remember me in your prayers, also, as I have been in a bad fibro-flare for the last several weeks. God Bless You!!!!!!!!!! Love and prayers, Cheryl

Hello to all my Prayer Circle friends and the new ones that have come here for prayer since I was on last. Between having some problems with my computer, and also battling erratic blood sugar readings, I have not been able to post. However, I keep all of you in my daily prayers, and will add the new posters to my prayer list tonight.
Totremble: What a beautiful witness to God's love. How you must treasure your daughter, that you were not suppose to be able to have. Indeed we all will keep her in prayer for her asthma, as well as for you and diabetes. I know what a problem it can be to keep control, and when things go crazy, as they have been with me lately because I had to take so much prednisone for the Lupus flare I had. It seems like I will never get things back in control and where they were before. Please pray for me that it will finally calm down.

Thomas, I will surely keep you in prayer and that you will get relief from what is giving you so much pain, if it is fibromyalgia or something else. Always stay close to our Lord because he is there for us. I know that my medical problems have brought me closer to God, and also has made me more caring and sensitive to the pain and suffering of others. I will E-Mail you soon when I get things caught up.

jcvcellars: I will praying for your diabetic condition. I am glad you found our Circle and come back often to keep in touch and also ask for prayers and pray for those who need them too as well as the support that we all can give one another.

Love & Prayers,
Dolphin

jccellars: I am sorry that I misread your prayer request for your friend who has the diabetes, and will pray for her; but also for the arthritis that you have. I know that must be very painful at times.

Victoria: I can relate to the problem that you are having with trying to stop smoking, and also what Cheryl wrote to you. I smoked for years, and when I knew that it was making my health problems all the worse, I realized it had to stop. But how could I do it when I had been smoking most of my life? I tried a number of times and failed. One night in prayer I surrendered myself to God and told Him that I was without the strength and ability to stop on my own, and that I needed some strong intervention from Him in order to get rid of this habit that was making me sicker. God heard my prayer, and from that time on I never smoked another cigarette, and in fact, now I am allergic to smoke and will have asthma attacks if I get to close to it. All I can say is that when I gave it to the Lord, we heard my prayer and answered it. Keep praying, Victoria, and tell God that you can't do it yourself - that He has to help you. Please keep in touch with us here and let us know how it is going.

hlillian: OH, your mom sure has a lot on her plate and many problems. God Bless You for coming her and asking for prayers for her. There are some real prayer warriors in our loving Circle, so I know there will be many be said for her. Thank you for sharing that beautiful prayer, and know that it does not matter what denomination anyone here belongs to - we have a common bond - and that is to pray and support one another in times of need. Please come back and keep in touch with how things are going.

Rodrigue: Thank you for your prayers for those who are suffering from chronic illnesses, and also for asking for prayer for your mother. We will be keeping her in our prayers, and also you too.

Hi Dan: It must be very difficult trying to cope with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I have a friend that suffers with that. Thank you for your prayers for all here, and please know that you will be in our prayers too. May God Bless you and ease the pain and difficulties.

Alcore and Cheryl: It is always so nice to see you when I come onboard. You have been with the Circle from the beginning and I agree that there is really strength in prayer and support.
I consider you and all of the ones that come here my friends and your needs and problems are in my prayers all the time.

OTIETUMLINSOM: I am so sorry that you are in so much pain with the MS. "Heavenly Father, we ask that you put your healing hand on your suffering child and relieve that terrible pain that is being experienced. We ask that you give her/him the strength to endure what has to be, but if it be your will, to bring healing to her/him. We ask this in your name, and we give you praise and honor for all that you do for us and the love you give us." God Bless You and please keep in touch.

Jonal: Eric will be in our prayers that more can be found out about his rare disorder and a cure can be found.

Dear Friends: I feel so blessed to meet you here and to pray for each and everyone of you and your families and friends who are in need. There is such a true concern for one another and it really shows in the prayerful posts that are here. I felt the Lord was nudging me to begin this Prayer Circle, and now that it has been going for the time it has, I am sure it was from the Lord and I am glad that I listened. I wish all the best for my dear friends, and mainly that you know that God is with you through all the rough times, and does hear our prayers.

God Bless,
Dolphin
