Yes, my dearest Miss V, I did receive your Card on time, ha, ha! I don't think you were late last year....but then, my memory aint the greatest these days, :). Oh, you just cracked me up! I remember that joke, ha, ha...you thought they were little fishy's and then YOU asked me to explain it to you!! We've had some good laughs over the years, :).
Yes, I had a wonderful Birthday and hubby took me out for supper at my favorite Chinese Restaurant. Of course I ate too much so I'll have to extend my walk today!

Hey B-day lady! :) You are so right; we've had some good one's and that one was a whopper! A good laugh on me! As that age old saying goes ... "Even after all I/we've been through, still I/we find joy!" Presently, I'm going through some powerful struggles in my on personal life, but I have determined that with God's help all will turn out as it should according to God's divine will in my life. It's funny how on some days I feel as though I can't move another step into the future. Then, the next day, I can't wait to get my day started. There is no doubt in my mind that prayer changes things and people. It's the results of our prayers that gives us the strength and determination to just keep on keeping on! And for that, I am mighty grateful!

For the past few days, I have been engrossed in the reading of a very inspirational book entitled One Day My Soul Just Opened Up, by best selling author, Iyanla Vanzant. Angel Moms, if you wanna have some good old belly laughs while increasing your own spiritual growth, I encourage you to read this book! I’ll be back a little later to share a poem written by her very talented daughter Gemmia Vanzant, who gave her the title for her book.

One day my soul just opened up

I felt this overwhelming pride
what I was proud of
only God knows!
Like the pride of a hundred thousand fathers
basking in the glory of their newborn sons
I was grinnin' from ear to ear!

I started laughing
and I laughed for what seemed like forever

Hey my dear Miss V!
I'm sorry to read you're going through your own personal struggles, I just went through one myself and I agree wholeheartedly, with prayer and trust in God, things and situations can and are turned around! Along with plenty of gratitude.
Oh, I love Iyanla Vanzant, she has a one hour tv program on the Women's Network that I always watch, she's helped many a woman with her spiritual approach to healing the wounded through God. And yes, she can be so funny at times!
Gee, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree as they say, that's a beautiful affirming poem from her daughter!
And of course the Inspirational from Roy Lessin, your favourite, :)

I am feeling a wee bit better. My little one is too. We are handling things as they come up. He has many questions and I think it is therapy for us both. He has just started a karate class. My oldest son, (he's 26 now) started a few months ago and suggested that I get David started as it has helped him a great deal. He says it is a great outlet and he has something to focus on other than his grief. Also, it builds confidence and a lot of other good things. We will see. He really enjoyed the 1st class. Anyway, it is a work in progress....always. :)

I agree wholeheartedly about putting David into Karate......Chris and Shane took Karate lessons for a few years and it did help them to become more confident and more disciplined, besides enjoying it immensley :) I know it will do the same for your David!

Thank you KATHY for your birthday wishes. I'm sorry that I'm not able to get on here very often now, but you all are still in my prayers as I think of you. Things are progressing for me; I have much more peace now than I've had in quite a while. Reading the Scriptures has really helped me, especially as I now have more time to read them. Two verses that have helped me tremendously (because I KNOW they have been in the Scriptures since they were written, but I feel like God sent them to me recently JUST FOR ME!) are both in the Psalms:
"Thank you God that you have delivered me from the violent man."
"My soul has dwelt too long with one who hates peace. I am for peace, but when I speak, they are for war."
How is that for deep confirmation that what I am doing is right? Just knowing that God is with me has helped tremendously! Thank you all for your prayers!

I'm sorry I'm so late in wishing you a Happy Birthday. Had computer problems yesterday. Today I worked, caught up on e-mails, ate and went to prayer meeting. This is the first chance I had all day. I'm so glad you are finding confirmation from Scripture. I pray you will be able to get a job soon. I'm sorry if I seem to be MIA lately. I'm still dealing with my stomach episodes. Saw the Dr on Thurs and I'm undergoing another round of tests. Since this has only happened after my surgery some of the same tests are being done to see if something happened during surgery. I'm going from the least evasive to the most evasive. I pray they find the problem before they get to the most evasive which would require general anesthesia, cuz I don't respond to twilight. These days I'm mostly exhausted. I think I'm trying to do more than I should. In my "spare" time I helping my landlord and friend with her finances for 06. Putting everything into Excell. After that I can use a Quicken program for 2007 and get her caught up.

Jesse, I'm so sorry you're missing your best friend. I lost mine in 1994 and I still miss her terribly. Sometimes I think "If only Rosemarie could see me now." No one will take the place of Solange, but I do pray that God will send someone extra special to you.

Miss V, thank you for the poem and words of wisdom. It's always so uplifting to read one of your posts. I agree with Sandy, keep those appointments! Health issues can really take a toll on us physically. I pray God will help the Dr can find out what's going on with you and help you back to full recovery.

Kathy, I'm so glad both you and David are doing a wee bit better. Sounds like a great idea putting him in Karate. He can learn how to release his anger in a controlled way.

Chris, thank you for the updated list. It was kind of you to retrieve it and place it into a document. I wonder how long it took you to find the right page! I know one time I was looking for something particular and it took hours to find it! Thank you for taking that time to help us.

Sandy, I know you were going through some personal issues for awhile. I'm so glad to see you posting more often. You are also in my prayers. It's so much fun celebrating the 29's over and over. Actually, I wouldn't trade my age now for 29! The 50's have been very good to me. Yes, I have to deal with the health issues, but I've dealt with much worse in my younger years. I feel like I really came alive after I reached 50. Only my children and grandchild thinks that I'm old. I guess I am compared to them! Since all my friends are my age or older, I don't feel old, however that is suppose to feel!
