I believe that the best medicine is what The Great Physician taught: "Some curses need to removed by much prayer and fasting". I think that depending on too much psycho-active medicines can be detrimental. Less eating and drawing closer to the Lord seems to help me much.

Dear Ivy I know what you are going threw I my self suffer from Schizophrenia,Bipolar,Depression ,obsessive-compulsive disorder,I have 10 children and 3 grandchildren im often alone and i stay scared that i am goingh to hurt someone i am in therophy I do take medication I have been this way sence i was 15 and i pray to the lord everyday that it would just all go away my heart goes out to you.and lets bow our heads and say a little prayer and i will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Ivy, I too have had and still am dealing with anxiety and depression. It is something very few understand unless they have dealt with it personally. I have been told to "just get over it", or "if you were a true Christian you would not have that", or "quit faking and trying for attention", and another one is "it is all in your head- if you put your mind to it and really wanted to or if you were tired enough, you would be able to control it and overcome it."

These people made my situation worse. But, God is there, and He is listening. I feel we all go through things and only God knows why sometimes. But, know this, that this too shall pass.. to everything there is a season.
I feel the same as some of the others, a good therapist and sometimes meds can do wonders along with group therapy and prayers. Above all, never give up hope. That is what the evil one would want you to do. We all love you, take care and God bless you.

I know how much you are hurting, because I have suffered from Depression for all of my life.
Please make an appointment with your Doctor. He or she can guide you to someone who can prescribe some medicine for you and find you someone to talk with.
Depression is a real disease........Anxiety is a real disease. Please get help...You can't do it on prayer alone because it is a physical condition....There's no shame in asking for help by seeing your doctor. Honestly, I got on anti-depressants and the relief was almost immediate.
The doctor will tell you that it could take up to a month to feel relief, but I felt it in hours.
