For those with chronic diseases and illnesses
Chronic Diseases Prayer Circle

This circle is for all who suffer with chronic diseases and disorders and in need of prayer and support from others.

There are many who are afflicted with chronic diseases such as lupus, MS, fibromylagia, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome and others, or may have children or other family members and friends who suffer with these conditions. The prayer circle can be here for the many ups and downs that come with these illnesses, as well as the tests that most have to go through when having a flare or time of activity in their symptoms. This can be a place to come for prayers when support is needed and also to give thanks and praise to God for remissions and times that we feel well.

I began writing this and then something went haywire, so I am beginning again. This could show up twice, but here goes:

Whiteflight: Thank you for that beautiful prayer for those who are suffering and in pain, as well as writing that we need to follow HIM for all our lives. I know myself that I could never face some of the times I have had without knowing that my God does love and care for me. It is the glue that holds me together.

Ari - thank you for reminding us that we need to thank God for our blessings. So many times we get overburdened with concerns that we don't always see those blessings when they are right in front of us. You write that you are struggling with a spiritual problem at this time, and that can impact deeply on all aspects of our being, especially the physical problems that we may have. My prayer is for God's healing hand to touch every part of you so that you can feel His peace in your spirit and heart and thus your body can also be healed.

Sharon - Thank God for that wonderful report on your weight loss, lowered cholestrol and glycohemoglobin. Being diabetic myself, I know the importance of keeping all of this in control. It is not easy because it takes discipline but it sooo worth the effort. I am so glad that you feel the prayers here helped, and remember that we are all here for these times when someone really needs those prayers to help them over a bad time and struggle. It is so good to say: "Thank you, Lord for your blessings."

Alcore: WOW! What you wrote was like a soothing balm to me. It seems that God gave you just the right words that I am sure touched each and everyone here.

Cheryl _ I am so glad to see you back, but sorry that you have been having such discomfort from the fibro. I have been what is called "on a honeymoom" for a couple of weeks. What I mean is that with this bad Lupus flare, my Rheumy put me on 40 mgs of prednisone a day for a few weeks, but now I am starting to taper down and am feeling all those pains again. However, I look forward to coming here and meeting with you and all those who have found our little corner of the world where we can share not only our aches and pains, but our times when God has answered prayer, and also the companionship and fellowship of each other. Just think that this is another gift from our loving God - the gift of each other as friends and prayer partners. God Bless all of you.

BTW Sharon, I have a grandson with ADHD and has been this way for years. He had problems with the meds too, but finally was able to find a dosage that did not give him side affects. He is going to be eleven soon and we have had prayers for him for years. I am happy to say that he does seem to be calming down and doing so much better now, so hopefully your nephew will also improve. I know everyone here will keep him in their prayers.

I guess everyone must think that I know everything about almost every disease and problem . Well, I do have multiple medical conditions, and have experienced a lot, so I really can empathize with some many who come here. And, what I don't know about that you may have, I pray for healing for all of you.

Love and Prayers,
Dolphin

Hello to everyone. This truly is a remarkable prayer circle. Everyone seems so connected and so sincere that I find myself teary eyed. Our friends arrived from Germany a few days ago and it is so nice to have familiar faces around us again. My friends father has been having anxiety attacks recently and had to go to the doctor to have his throat strecthed because the spasam were so bad. So please pray for him. Her sister suffers from horrible anxiety/panic attacks and is having a bad flare up right now due to a stressful family situation. So please pray for her. Her brother-in-law only recently was diagnosised with juvienal diabetes and he's very frustrated and I guess he's been doing a lot of yelling. He's angry and hurting so please pray for him. I am being blessed with a wonderful female nurse practioner who seems to be really sincere about how I feel and is very prompt about returning my calls. She seems to be very good a giving your body time to adjust to medication without over medication. I really like that. My husband is right now as I type this on his way back to Arizona from LA were he was picking up our vehicle from shipment. It is a very long and unfamiliar drive to him and he has not checked in since 10 AM this morning so everyone please please pray for his safe return later tonight. I continue to pray that all of us find ways in which to glorify God through our illnesses no matter how big or how small and always remember to be thankful for the littlest thing in our lives and those around us. May God continue to strengthen and heal us in his time and in his way. God Bless.

gigi- I am praying for all your prayer requests, but especially that your husband has a safe trip from LA. I hope by this time you have heard from him. Please let us know that all is ok.

God willing all of us with Chronic Illness will find some peace from the pain. To have faith is at times very difficult. I have Lupus along with other related disease. My prayer is for my fiend who suffers so with this illness. May God help her to find the light of eternity where pain lives no more.

I hope my words may help others to know that they are not alone.

Lyssa,
Welcome to the Prayer Circle. I am glad you found us. You and your friend will both be in my prayers to God to relieve the pain of your illness. I also have Lupus and have been in a month-long flare which has made it necessary to take large dosages of steroids; and that has made my diabetes a difficult struggle to control. Please know that you have friends here that will be glad to pray for you and that your coming here adds more strength to our chain of support and prayer. We are all here for one another and are not alone.

Love and Prayers,
Dolphin

I just want to encourage everyone to visit Lyssa's website. I just went there and it is such a well-planned and lovely site, and one that those with Lupus would want to read, as well as anyone with chronic disease. Congratulations Lyssa on a good job, and please continue to join us here in prayer and support.

Love and Prayers,
Dolphin

God bless all who read our prayers.

GiGi120, I just re-read your intro. Please have a talk with your physician or pharmacist about your inhalers for "mild asthma." My son has "mild asthma" and a few of the inhalers he has been on have made him "anxious."
Especially, since you say you have not had any flare-ups in 7 years. Let your physician know that you have been taking these drugs for 7 years, you have had no flare ups in 7 years, and that you have been anxious for these 7 years. Anxiety is one of the side effects of inhalers. I do not mean to over step the purpose of this prayer circle, but when I read your message GiGi, I was concerned. God Bless You.

Jan - I think one of the ways we can support each other is in sharing our experiences with a particular problem as you have done with Gigi regarding inhalers. You did not over step the purpose of this Prayer Circle in doing so, as this is one way we can show concern for one another.

God Bless,
Dolphin

Dear Lord - We pray for Ashley that she will have a remission of the MS, and for her loving husband who has come here to the Circle asking for prayers. Please touch her in a special way and all those with MS and other chronic diseases, and their families who also need your strength, Lord. Please say a prayer for Gerald Givarz. He has just found out that he must go on dialysis. May God grant him the peace that comes with accepting God's will, and may God grant peace to his family as well. If it be God's will, may he still enjoy the beauty in life. I ask this is the name of the Lord. Amen

Your words of comfort could not have come at a better time in my life. I feel that I have truly found a place of hope within the prayer circle. When I said my prayers this evening, I looked to the Heavens and saw the wonders of God's creations. He placed a Full Moon to light our path to peace. He placed the stars as steps to the Promise Land. As I gazed above I saw a star fall from the sky. I believe it was one of God's tears, for his love for us all is unconditional. In Christ, Lyssa

FAITH:

I have questioned my faith in God so often. To believe in something that I cannot touch, A being that I can not see, A voice that I never hear. It's easy to have doubts and disbelief.

Yet there are moments that I feel a presence that is indefinable. I perceive those to be the faint touch of God blowing through my inner self, restoring the faith that I had once lost.

I know that the footprints behind me were seldom those of my own. I know that God carries me still, for the journey is far from over.

This is an excert taken from my webpage link that I wrote titled Safe Passage.

I know that many have lost their faith and are living a life that is filled with pain, both physical and emotional. Know that God is with us. Keep in mind that there are times we pray to God for something and it isn't that he hasn't heard our prayers. Perhaps his answer to our prayers was No. We are all here for a purpose, and as much as we would like to question his actions or lack of it, we must keep the Faith.

In Christ,
Lyssa

I am asking for prayer for myself. I was diagnosed with idiopathic cardiomyopathy almost a year ago. It has been a year of fear and depression for me. I am praying that God will not allow my illness to consume my life. I have a little girl that I so want to live to see grow up and a wonderful husband that I would love to grow old with. I am praying for peace of mind and courage to face the months and years to come. Please keep me in your prayers. I am praying for all that have chronic illnesses.

I wish that the Great Spirit, whoever he or she may be, will help those people who are chronically ill. Especially those who, like myself, have been touched by the fate of Chronic Lyme Disease. This disease is hard for people to bear because its evil touches each and every part of the mind and body. I hope for the strength to fight this disease and I hope that someday we are blessed with a cure.

I too have a rare chronic illness and felt like the only one out there with no one to talk to. Thank you for starting this prayer circle. Life is tough when you suffer every day, thank goodness God is there to help get us through each day. I wouldn't be here if God didn't keep me going. Somedays I ask him why I am still here and someone will come and tell me what an inspiration I have been for them and I look up to heaven and say "OK God, I get your message"! I pray for all who have written here and hope God lets you know that He is there for you. May God Bless You!!! Amen

Dear Lord, I pray that you give strength and peace to those who suffer from chronic illnesses. I pray for all who have entered this site and need prayers and those who are unaware of it and need prayers. I pray for Cavalier Lady to give her and her husband strength, courage, and to become close again. I pray for God's love and peace to bring them close. It is a terrible thing to have a marriage on the rocks due to such tragedies. I also pray for a miracle that her husband can fully recover his health and they can recover their money. I have just discovered this site and truly hope that my prayers can help heal all who need God's help.
