Prayer for today

Give me, Savior, a purpose deep
In joy or sorrow Your trust to keep
And so through trouble, care and strife,
To keep You first in my daily life.

I am absolutly horrifed at the events at this beautiful little Amish School. At any beautiful little school for that matter. I just do not understand the evil that exhists in this world. It is very frightening when my 7 year old catches a glimpse of the news or hears from his own school that these thing actually happen. We put our armor on every morning and he asks...." Will I be safe Mom?" It is getting harder and harder to re-assure him. We pray and pray and pray. I join you all in prayer for the families of these terrible tragedies. The only thing I know for sure is that our Lord has these children and their families in his hands. I will be sending my prayers to the website listed, prayers to all.

Dear Sandy, Charlene and Selva,
Thank you for the prayers for my mother. The issues in my family come from being severely abused as children. Then as adults, we have all tried to reach out to her and tell her we forgive her. Unfortunately she is incapable of having an adult relationship with us. I probably have the most empathy for her because I know she is mentally ill and having traveled that journey myself I understand. However, it is still frustrating because she refuses to believe she needs help. She will take tranquilers for her nerves but she doesn't believe there is anything wrong with her behavior. If I allow myself to go there I could become very demoralized after a conversation with her. According to her, there is nothing that I do right in my life. I have learned to pray for protection before I call her, and seek Truth afterwards. My other sisters have not learned how to do this, so they just avoid her. Anyway, thank you for your prayers. I think we should follow Kathy's advise and send encouragement to the Amish people in PA. I was also so horrified when I heard the news. This is a people who have chosen to separate themselves from our worldly values and corruption. I also agree with the person who spoke on CNN that we should pray for the man's family. They are innocent also and will forever carry this with them. So Father God, we come once again to Your Throne asking You to intervene on behalf of our hurting brothers and sisters. We ask for Your comfort to overwelm them. We pray that their community is strengthed in their faith. We pray especially for the boys who were made to leave. We pray against survival guilt. We pray You would restore their sense of security and that they could continue to trust You. We pray for the little girls still in the hospital. We pray for your healing touch on them physically, emotionally and spiritually. We pray for the families of these girls, for strength and wisdom each day. We particularly pray for this man's family. They also are innocent. They have also lost someone that they loved very much. Please comfort them and protect them. Father, this was a surprise for us, but not for You. We bow to Your Sovereignty and worship You. You are God and there is no other. We ask now that You bring good out of this.

I am so glad that you are feeling better, your hand will heal too,now all we have to do is get rid of the things that are making us feel bad right? and also Taco Bell and Reeces, ay my dear sister, instead of going to Taco Bell go to the nickel mach and maybe you win. Of course my dear sister that we will pray for you so that you will be just fine and go back to sleep and nights, try to keep busy during the day and watch horror movies, ha ha, this way you will keep awake during the day. AMEN, my dear sister Jane, yes of course we have to pray for those poor people, nobody deserves to go through that, specially the Amish people, they are so peaceful and full of love, I heard today, that they already forgiven that man that created this horror. My prayers will be with them. Selva

My dear Angel in Chief.So happy that you had a great Birthday and sorrounded by family. I am not working too late this week, I am really exhausted, so it will be 8 to 5 this week. My sister is just hanging in there, she still has not quit smoking, so now all I do is pray and pray. Love you my dear dear sister. Selva

Hi my dear Co-Pilot, :-), Yes, it was very nice, thanks to my darling son Chris, it was a day to remember. Now THAT is music to my ears, you really need some rest, looding after Nancy and stressing over her has taken it's toll, you really need more rest and time for yourself. I'm still keeping Nancy in my prayers and I'm sure the other AngelMoms are too, so yes, we'll leave it in God's Hands.

Safely through another day,
Lord, thank You that You made a way.

Charlene, what a beautiful poem. Thank you for sharing it with us.I have some I wrote after Kim's death that i've been meaning to put on her site but I haven't done so yet.

Thank you Anita. I just sat down and wrote that this evening; with my loss (and thinking about everyone here in this circle) and the deaths of all the little Amish girls this week, my heart has been full--and that's what came out.
I haven't checked out your new site yet; maybe tomorrow when I can think more clearly. By this time of day, I'm starting to really wear down and get sleepy so I guess that's a hint to get ready for bed.

My heart aches for everyone here. So much pain and grief. I realized just how much our Father in Heaven must of grieved as his son hung on the cross.
My daughter Tina reminds me that things happen for a reason. But, each year as Lisa's day draws closer, it is hard to believe there was a reason for her suffering then murder. I miss her so. I know what everyone knows who has lost a child. My aunt lost her son, my cousin over 15 years ago, but said he is the first one she thinks about when she awakes, and the last one when she goes to bed at night. My prayers are with you all. Cheryl - Lisa's mom.

Thanks Jane, but no apology necessary; I am just glad that I can help these families in some way. I realize that today they're having 4 of the funerals; all the families still need our heartfelt prayers.

Your name looks familiar but I don't remember your story since I just joined this circle this year. I did look at Lisa's memorial page and read the posts. I am so glad that you are able to raise your granddaughter and have your 'second chance' with her, but it doesn't make up for the loss of your daughter does it. I'll be praying for you.
