People of India and Pakistan
Earthquake Prayer Circle

For all those affected by the massive quake in the subcontinent, a short moment to send warm wishes

As many of you know, near the town of Bhuj in the state of Gujarat in western India, a huge earthquake jolted the Indian sub-continent last week.

The quake was felt in Bangladesh, Nepal and in Madras, South India. It's the equivalent of feeling a New York earthquake as far west as Chicago.

It is estimated that maybe in excess of 15,000 lost their lives and hundreds of thousands are homeless.

This prayer circle was created to send our warmest wishes and prayers to those impacted by this natural disaster. Our thoughts are with you.

There is a story of a man who asks God why he let's bad things happen. Why doesn't He send help. God's reply to the man was, "I did send help. I sent you."

Lord, make us your sent help. Watch over our family, your family, in India and grant them the peace and comfort that is so desperately needed at this time.

Amen.

Fellow Earthlings -- the humanity of this disaster requires us to consider our humanity/intensity. The "force" was most definitely shaken by the loss.

Those who passed so suddenly in the earthquake disaster in India are benefited by our prayers of passover into the heavenly kingdom -- their death may have been sudden, their demise not realized -- pray that they may cross the "bridge" into "HIS" kingdom. Help them over the bridge.

Their beliefs, if I am correct, entertain the notion of reincarnation, this temporal life being only a passage along the trail to ALL that IS. Some, perhaps, are grateful for the release.
Life is cruel and can be Hell. AS IS, we are all dead in the long run. Though, no one deserves to suffer. Pray for those who did, I am.

Pray for those who suffered and who did not gain strenght in the spirit, I will. Perhaps, our demise will not be so tragic. Perhaps it will be -- let us stand as God fearing people when it comes -- breath deep our fate as BELIEVERS when the time comes. No man is an island unto himself, WE are all connected. Love your neighbor now, your family sooner, and yourself first. Who has tommorrow!?

A man,

Scott

Lord, help all those who grieve, those who are devastrated and overwhelmed, those who injured, those who need homes and food. Help them all to sense Your comforting arms around them. Be a real and tangible presence in their time of need. Send servants with mercy in their hearts and healing in their hands. Send wisdom and strength to their leaders. Send hope and sustenance for bodies, minds, and spirits. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

3/2/01 01:49 Psalm 115-

Not to us, O Lord, not to us
but to your name be the glory,
because of your love and
faithfulness.
Why do the nations say,
"Where is their God?"
Our God is in heaven;
he does whatever pleases him.
But their idols are silver and gold,
made by the hands of men.
They have mouths, but cannot speak,
eyes, but they cannot see;
they have ears, but cannot hear,
noses, but they cannot smell;
they have hands, but cannot feel,
feet, but they cannot walk;
nor can they utter a sound with their
throats.
Those who make them will be like
them,
and so will all who trust in them.
O house of Israel, trust in the Lord-
he is their help and shield.
O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord-
he is their help and shield.
You who fear him, trust in the Lord-
he is their help and shield.
The Lord remembers us and will bless
us:
He will bless the house of Israel,
he will bless the house of Aaron,
he will bless those who fear the
Lord-
small and great alike.
May the Lord make you increase,
both you and your children.
May you be blessed by the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
The highest heavens belong to the
Lord,
but the earth he has given to man.
It is not the dead who praise the Lord,
those who go down to silence;
it is we who extol the Lord,
both now and forevermore.
Praise the Lord.

A lotus of compassion for all the sentient beings suffering in Gujarat and elsewhere. No one "deserves" this. The punishment is the pain of guilt. Remove guilt and open up your hearts - suffers as well the rest of the world. We are all of the nature to do bad things, to feel pain, and to die. May all beings have a loving life and a peaceful death. May all sentient beings become enlightened. The humility of this situation is enough, let us be comforted. Let us all feel compassion and sow the seeds of our innate wisdom.

ATTENTION to all Souls:
Why do we exist at all?
Were we created by a kind and lonely God, magic of matter or a hidden high-tech civilization from deep space? Could there be Another explanation?

Today it's about the children for me. And about the mourning parents. I want to scoop them all up in the embrace of Love, those still here, those gone on, everyone.

You know how when a child is born, they just have complete trust? They know that all they have to do is cry out, and their needs will be met. They expect someone to be there watching over them, reading their needs and supplying them.

I remember gazing at the newborn faces of my little ones, and vowing never to betray that trust. I wanted to preserve it long enough so that as they grew, they could learn to transfer that trust from me personally to their divine Creator. And then they would always feel secure, always know that Someone was watching over them.

This time, the earth itself betrayed the children of Asia and their parents. Something we so totally take for granted—the ground beneath our feet—didn't behave as expected. The picture of mortality is grim. Yet there is still room for trust.

Trust in the idea that Life is Spirit, that nothing good can be annihilated because it is eternal, that Love transcends mortal boundaries and unites us in the realm of Mind.

The God who maketh all things new is hearing the cries of the small ones, and meeting their needs right now for Love, tenderness, comfort, peace. God is the most attentive Parent, and in truth, we have never been far from His gaze.

Take a few moments today to picture with me the dear children, safe in the arms of Love. And send that comforting thought to their parents, embracing all in the Creator's care.

"God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new."
