My dear friend Lisa, just to let you know that I am also praying I pray that God will let you have very good signs and dreams about Aaron, we are starting in our journey for the third year, it is always tough, and no matter how long we will always feel this pain and the emptyness, but we have to continue my dear sister, until God decides that we could be together with our kids again. I think I have given up on Birthdays. On my 12th birthday, I desperately wanted to be 13 years old and finally a TEENAGER (don’t ask me why?!). My Aunt was very kind to offer me HER birthday every year…so I had two birthdays. Around my early twenties I figured out that I was getting the raw end of the deal and I let my aunt know that that I could not accept anymore of her birthdays, keeping up with my own had become quite a chore!

Every year I have always treated myself to a little “Birthday gift”. Nothing elaborate or extravagant, but none the less, an item I normally would not buy for myself. In my newly married and small children days, money was tight and so I contemplated and thought out my options quite seriously, being frugal as well as frivolous was very important to me! It was not often that I would spend money on myself; I wanted to make sure the item was a “need” and a “want”! As years passed (and they do so fast!) I realized that buying that small gift (reward) had turned into a time of contemplation and reflection! And so now I look upon birthdays as a time of reflection!!

We sometimes call our son, “Curious Matthew” due to his dedicated and somewhat enthusiastic habit of asking questions, said to me “So Mom, what was your gift this year?“ my reply “WRINKLE CREAM!”

Yep! This past year has been real big year for REFLECTIONS… …REFLECTIONS in the mirror!

Angelmoms,
I finally made it up the Coast of California to Monterey where my daughter is now living. Bless her heart! She went from sharing a two-story Condo with a fireplace and ocean-view with one roommate to living in a very cramped dorm with FIVE GIRLS and no kitchen! She grew up with three brothers and a cousin! She doesn’t have the tolerance or experience to handle so many GIRLS in such close quarters! LOL!
My Husband reminds her that if it (living in dorms-going to college) were comfortable, you would never leave. You are supposed to hurry up and get through college. She is a Junior at CSUMB this year.

All in all, it was well worth it to spend time with my daughter! I am so proud of her. She is doing well emotionally and physically considering the she has had so much upheaval pain in her life recently. She is on a water-polo scholarship and attends two practices a day with classes in between. Morning workouts at 6:00 am and evening workouts over at 8:00 pm she isn’t back until 9:00pm daily!

It was the longest drive I have ever made alone! FIVE HOURS! The way home was horrible…I had a tire blow-out in the middle of no where with NO cell phone service. I used the call box down the road and the CHP operator was upset for me! She kept asking me are you okay? Do you know how to change a tire? Nope, I never have had the opportunity to change a tire…Though I’ve seen it done, plenty of times! She also informed me that Towing companies don’t like to drive out to the middle of no-where land to change tires, it would cost around $75.00-$150.00 just to get them to come out at their leisure! So, I called my hubby and told him I would just do it myself! Ha-ha-ha-ha! You need a ladder just to get into it! (My SUV) was my hubby’s reply! I knew that if I started changing the tire, someone might just stop and help this slightly frazzled damsel in distress! And they did! Two young gentlemen who looked a little rough around the edges, pulled up in a beat up old wreck, had a heck of time getting the tire off (it took two jacks!) and the spare on. I tried to give them money ($20) for lunch or soda but they wouldn’t take it. I tried to persuade them to take my token of gratitude; after all they stopped and took time out of their busy day to help a stranger. They replied that “GOD WOULD GIVE THEM THEIR REWARD” It is true that you can “never judge a book by it’s cover” and an ANGEL can be very unassuming!

Hello dear AngelMoms, my sisters and friends!

I'm baacckk, ha, ha. No, I haven't been celebrating my b'day for the last 3 days, lol, but a big heartfelt thank you to all who sent me such lovely Cards, you're all the greatest and I'm so blessed to be among you all!!

Thank's dear Miss V for holding down the fort, appreciate it and for the day 'off', :-). And of course the lovely prayer that you posted for all, they always contain hope and that's a wonderful feeling to have, isn't it.

Hi our dear Marci, as always, terrific to see a Post from you again! I loved reading about the Angels God sent to you in your hour of need, (not that it's any fun to have a flat) but isn't that marvellous!! You just never know what an Angel is going to look like and God sent you two of them! Happy too that you had a good visit with your daughter, I know how you must miss her now that she's farther away. She was no doubt elated to have her Mom there as well, :-).

I was reading this the other day and I thought "I have to post this at the Circle". So here it is:

The Ancient Greeks didn't have obituaries after a person died,
they only asked one thing...'Did he/she have passion?'

I believe that one sentence describes our Angels to a tee! Whether our Angels visit with us was short or long , they seem to have all taught us wonderful lessons, loved with all their hearts and had PASSION!!! They lived well according to the greeks ... And those of us who loved them...

I thought yes! Shane had a Passion for life and lived it to the fullest!

Great to hear from you again, so glad you had a good time with your daughter, and then the Angels, wow that was quite an experience, yes Angel come in all kind of people, because we are all children of God, that is why we can not discriminate others, and we can not judge people for what they look like, we all have an Angel inside of us, if we could all understand that, this world will be a better place, but we are all learning and I think we are in the right path. Hi my dear Angel in Chief. Thanks for sharing that, yes I think our kids Angels all had a Passion, I know Solange did, it was overwhelming, I think they are The Brave Souls, they decided to come to this life to teach us all a great lesson, they chose to live a short life (that is why I consider them Brave Souls) and teach us this tremendous love that we all feel, I lood around and see parents taking their kids for granted, we don't, we really know the meaning of being parents, we know of all THE LOVE, that it is so great we still feel that love, because our Angel kids are still with us, we are still Mothers, our love is Eternal, and believe me, not many people have experience this much love, we learned the hard way, but we now can understand Mary's love for her child Jesus, and She is with Him in Heaven and so will we. We are keeping very quiet and GUESS WHAT, we have to let it all out and this is WHY our dear Angel in chief and and all of us are keeping this, I want to say that I am missing my Solange soooooo much, I want to see her one more time, I want to tell her how much I love her one more time,I need her close to me and I need to see her and I am sure that all of you want to do the same thing, I just needed to let it out. Yes, it is quiet here lately, where is everybody?
Yes, our dear sister, you have to let it out, it takes more courage to let it out, cry than it does to hold it in, I tried doing that and it made it worse for me, so I listened to the wise word's of Bereavement Specialist's.

This up-coming weekend is our Thanksgiving. Yes, I am blessed that Chris and his girlfriend will be here for Turkey and all the trimmings, but I'll also be very conscious once again of the missing chair. I don't think I'll ever get used to it.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I also lost my son of 20 years to an accidental drug overdose. My family and I are devastated. It seems so wrong not to ever see him around. I will keep you in my prayers.
