My days have been full of explaining which firework is quiet, which one is noisy or which one is the most powerful! Never have I ever thought that I would be telling people that something goes “pop-pop-pop” or that something has “sleeting silver stars that shoot red and green flames!” We try to make it fun but it is work too. By the end of the week we’re all so tired that all the fireworks become the same and they all go “pop-pop-pop” and have “sleeting silver stars that shoot red and green flames!” |

Selva, Susan Sandy, and Miss V. Thank you so much for your inquiring minds! I do have a traveling laptop alas I do not have wi-fi internet! My hubby thinks I’m on the web way too much already! Miss V, I have 4 PC’s two new. Nothing compares to the new PC’s. You’ll be able to do so much more in half the time! As far as laptops are concerned, they are VERY expensive, break down all the time because they get moved around all the time and the monitors only last for a few years. I use one because of swimming. We download meets and results when we travel. Also, compared to a pc monitor the laptops have SMALL monitors (even if it’s a wide screen like mine) and the fonts are WAY too SMALL! A desktop is cheaper, more powerful and easier on the eyes! I have had 2 top of the line laptops- a Sony and Toshiba with all the bells and whistles. I do not like using them at home. My hubby says it’s my $2000 DVD player when at home and his right, it is! |

Hi Everyone! Sandy, hope you had a ball celebrating Canada Day! :) Yall have made my day, or night, rather! Just coming here to read after being unable to sign on [since my last post] has been so uplifting! Sandy, Selva, Sue: Trust me, [ha-ha]! I have learned this the hard way! Now, all I have to do is quit. As it says in the movie: The house always win. :( So I try not go so often and when I do, I play mostly nickel slots. Hey Sue, I bet you will recognize me whenever we meet because I used to live at the Isle! [just kidding]. :) The Isle of Capri is where I had my very first and only BIG win! I won $8,269.25 shortly after losing my Diane. I can't recall if it was in Dec. of '96 or '97 now, but I do remember that I ended up taking the $8,000 in a check and going right on down stairs and losing the $269.25! Ha-ha! Of course, back then, I was still working, so it was no big deal. Now that I am retired and so is hubby, I really can't afford to lose. So, as Erica [can't think of her last name] says in her hit song; "I think I'd better call Tyrone!" ha-ha! Selva, [bless your sweet loving heart], pulleeze hold up on the Oprah contact until I hear back from Leia, my book project manager! We still have a lot of legal stuff to get cleared up so we won't get sued by anyone when the final editing is complete and the book is published. Trust me, there is a lot of editing and legal issues involved when writing a book of this nature; more than I EVER imagined. We still have to complete the final editing, copyright, grant proposals, etc. Also, I still have to have several copies made of the final edited manuscript to share with potential sponsors. That is why it takes so long to complete the entire project. So, just be patient my sister, and God willing, it will happen, ... in God's time! :) And remember, when it does, you and Cheryl will have to go on the Oprah show because Yo Miss V. does not fly! Ha-ha! Oh, your grandson will love to receive a card from his Cuban American grandma! He will be 10 years old! My, the time does fly! Cheryl and I had made plans to go look for a computer today but it rained, so we canceled until after the holiday. AOL ran some kind of update on my computer earlier today and afterwards, I was able to sign-on. Don't know what they did, but so far it is working, praise God. :) OK Yall, before I get cut off and lose this post, I am going to submit and hope it gets through! My love & prayers are always with yall! Hey Sue, I will give you a call one day next week [weather permitting], so we can finally meet somewhere in Bossier City! My Cheryl used to live in Bossier City in the red brick apartments right in front of the base, on the left, just before you get to the bridge over Red River. I believe it was called The Cardova Apartments. Anyway, we will get together soon! |

Hi my dear hermana Marci, wow it is so great to hear from you, I knew you were busy, after all it is summer and good for swimming, sorry about your finger, hey don't over do it, but I am glad that you are keeping busy, that is the best way to get away from valley days, I am planning to work all weekend, it is very hard, by this time Solange was off to the Fla keys and me waiting for her to call me and tell me she safely arrived, then worry all weekend long and calling her at all times (she hated it) ha ha but she always answered her cell when it was Mom. I fell down 2 days ago and again hurt my sacrum it was healing OK but I think I did it again with the fracture, I am in great pain, but when I had the accident they told me there was nothing to do on it, and it will heal by itself, so I went to work and have been taking pain pills, my sister wanted me to go to the Dr. but hech, what for?, I just put ice and pain killers, I am sure your are doing the same with your finger. I (we) are very glad to hear from you my dear sister, and remember whenever you get a chance cry if you must, it is the only way to get all that pain out. I know about not crying in public, but heck, we are mothers who lost their child, we have to cry. Don't worry about anybody else. I hope you make enough money to keep that Fund going. Bless you my sister. Love Selva |

Hi my dear Angel sisters. Happy 4th of July, when I say Happy you know what I mean, but at least "Count your Blessings" and be proud (as I am) to live in this Country of ours. Enjoy what freedom is, in my old country Cuba, people can not express themselves if they do they go to jail for 20 years just by saying f....Castro, and when I say Jail, I mean Hell, physical abuse, mentally and physical, no food, no beds, rats all over and I mean hell I have a good friend living through that, so I know, this is the most wonderful nation in the world, here I learned what Freedom is all about. God Bless America. Love you all. Selva |

HELLO TO EVERYONE, I haven't posted on here for sometime now, my son passed away 21 years ago now. But now I come requesting that everyone be in prayer for my ex-mother in law, this past thursday a.m. her son passed away which was the father of my 3 children, she is now 80 years old and is still very aware of everything and lives at home still with her husband. I did call her this morning and reached out to her, i know that missing of losing my son which was her grandson, so i thought who better to talk with her than some one that has been there, and she knew my son very well and was right there 21 years ago when he passed. I haven't talked with her in so long but still felt it was up to me to call and reasurre her he was in a better place. But the missing can go on and on and on sometimes, but to reassure her and tell her i love her and if there was anything i could do please call. I have twin daughters by this man also and they have been in touch with this woman also but the power of prayer wins the battles, and GOD answers prayer, her name is JEAN so i would greatly appreciate your prayers for her. Thank-you very much.-----SHARON |

Hello Sharon, nice to see a Post from you again, but not very good new's, I'm very sorry to read that. I think it was wonderful of you to reach out to your ex-mother-in-law, it doesn't really matter how old your child was, it still hurt's, and we know Jean must be, so of course we'll cover her in prayer, and condolences for your children also, as well as prayer's. Yes indeed, God answer's prayers, so be assured of our's! |

Hi my dear sister, and a Happy, Peaceful 4th of July to you and all here, I know, sometime's we who live in freedom, democracies, just take it for granted, while many other's in this World of our's don't have it and live under totalitarian rule, not enjoying those very freedom's that we should be so grateful for. |

Thank-you so much for the prayers for JEAN, the twins are doing fairly good i made sure they were together yesterday our pastor wants to go visit them which i am sure they need right now. I have really tried reasuring them that there dad is in a better place which i know he is. He is not suffering anymore he had been on oxgyen since at least 1998 a long time, he was only 62. HE was completely confined to his room and could not walk anymore or stand. I always seem to spend most of my time consoling others and it seems to help me cope and i get very blessed out of doing that. "IT TRULY IS MORE BLESSED TO GIVE THAT RECEIVE". Thank- you again for your prayers. ......SHARON |

Hi Sharon, oh, you're very welcome, the best gift we can give one another is prayer! That's a wonderful idea to have the Pastor talk to the twins, it's going to be difficult for them losing their Dad, God bless them, and of course they have you, their Mom, to turn to also in their grief. Happy too that you're finding peace in yourself, helping other's, what you give out, you will receive back tenfold, |

A beautiful quote I came across today: They are not the mark of weakness but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition and of unspeakable love. ~Anon.~ Love Sandy |
